Augustine’s 1812 House
We had a wonderful dining experience tonight at Augustine’s 1812 House in Spanish Springs. Reservations were for 4 at 5pm. We arrived and were seated immediately at a table designated as “reserved”. Debbie, our server, attended to our every need. The bottled wine list offered a varied price range.
We ordered two appetizers, which the portions were generous. Fresh bread was also brought to the table. Entrees include steak, veal, chicken, fish, pasta and a nightly “Chef’s selection” as well as other options. The entrees were outstanding. Our group ordered the salmon, steak and the Chef’s selection of shrimp florentine ravioli (superb). The risotto that accompanied the salmon and steak was also incredible. Pizzelles were brought to the table as we were awaiting our check. They are currently offering a gift card special: purchase a $50 gift card and receive a bottle of wine free (manager’s choice) to go. Both couples purchased the gift card offer. We can’t wait to return and plan to request Debbie as our server! |
Unless I am missing something I have not found any menu online. Could care less about price, but prior knowledge of entrees is nice. Being this is only your 4th post since 2013, a restaurant review is interesting

We ate at the new Augustine's 1812 House the other night and were very happy with the choices, food quality and service. I am sure they will be a success as they have been for many years at the Lighthouse Point Restaurant. "Try it, you'll like it."

I can't find a web site for the restaurant (I assume because it is new). If anyone comes across one can you let us know please. Would love to see the menu. Thanks. kathy |

We ate at Augustines on December 18. Good food and service. I had the shrimp/cheese tortellini special with vegetables. I liked the Italian sauce. Hubby had haddock parmesan which he liked. A vocalist singing Italian music was in the bar area. Not loud - could not hear it in the front area.

I sure wouldn’t be too concerned, but I enjoy reading the good experiences people have at the local businesses. Usually when many chime in we get a good idea whether to try a business out. It seems folks are a little on edge with all that’s been going on the last year. People sure do pounce on very quickly these days about almost nothing. We all make mistakes! I enjoy the information given on totv overall but at times some seem to get rattled a bit

I'd like to believe the OP is not a "shill" for this new restaurant. I'd also like to see about 10 more reviews and a menu. The owners also run the Lighthouse at Lake Sumter which has had very mixed reviews over the last 2 years. So forgive me if I remain skeptical.

Part of the enjoyment of going to
[QUOTE=kathyspear;1875600]I envy you, Charlie. I have some food issues and I never go to a restaurant without seeing the menu ahead of time.

Although we won’t risk dinning out until vaccinated, I would like to try the restaurant via takeout. It has to be costing them valuable business not having a website. Can’t order takeout if you don’t have the menu.

Where in the center is this, what was in the space before.

Augustine’s 1812 House
Went there last night for dinner and had their pizza. Well it left a lot to be desired. I ordered the regular (not thin) crust and it turned out very dense. Pizza crust is usually airy and crisp this crust was just dense and not very tasty.

Opening was mid November. As of 12/29 restaurant does not have a online menu or website from the restaurant itself. That’s unusual for any restaurant not just in TV. We had reservations for NYE, but had to cancel. So as of right now only way to view menu is drive there, memorize the menu, for future takeout. |
I also had tho good means there. Chicken Farm and a Ribeye.
|
We ate there twice, first time good, second time not so good. Why can’t restaurants in TV be consistent with their food quality? Both times they were very stingy with their $9/glass wine pour.

Go to Paesano’s

Went there for dinner Saturday during the car show. We waited about 5 - 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress was very good and attentive. Placed our order for spaghetti and stuffed shells with a house salad. Timing was good as was the salad. The order was served however the spaghetti was a small serving and the stuffed shells we cold. Not just warm, they were cold. A manager came over and said we'll get this taken care of. We waited about 15 - 20 minutes before the shells were brought out and they were still cold. There was no, we're sorry, no how about a dessert on the house - nothing except the bill with no comments. Needless to say we won't be going back.

Never said anything about wanting it to fail, quite the opposite. Would love to have a great Italian restaurant. Just saying it was not a good experience for us. The first time we went the food was so so and we attributed that to being new. We went back for a 2nd time in hopes that it had improved.

We like to see comments about restaurants to help guide us on trying different ones.
No restaurant is going to be all good or all bad, so more inclined to believe balanced reviews. |
Dinner tonight at Augustines was excellent. BTW, they have a web site with a menu
Attention Required! | Cloudflare We wish them every success. 2/13/21 Update. After an outstanding show at The Sharon, we went to dinner at Augustine’s. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Unfortunately two of the four ordered Grouper. The Mkt Price $21.99 was fine. However the Grouper for both of us was disappointing. It was too “fishy” for our taste and we’re guessing was undercooked. The veal Parmigiana dinner was also described as just ok. Hopefully this was just an anomaly. We’ll likely try them again but what a disappointment from our first experience at Augustine’s just two weeks earlier. |
I guess I should feel your pain I cause you

Where is PAESANOS?
We’d like to try some pizza at PAESANOS. Is it good? Where is PAESANOS restaurant? Thank you

Really hate those who post negative restaurant "reviews" based on such a small sample. Reads more like a hit job.
