Finding Rental Properties
 

We want to rent for several months while we search for a home in TV. We have been in contact with The Villages Hometown Property Management company which provided us with several options. Are there other sources for rentals. We already tried the rentals advertised on this forum and received very few responses to our requests. Accordingly we would prefer to work with a property management company. Suggestion would be appreciated.

Before we bought a home we rented using ****. Hmmm, the rental acronym was deleted. I will try again, we used Vacation Rentals By Owner.

We rented a home 18 months ago using Villages rental.

Worked out well especially when we had a few maintenance issues and were able to contact them to get it fixed promptly.

There is a local company called "Down Home Properties" if you wish to deal with a property management company. Many good comments on here are about them for the most part. They are a bit more responsive than the developer's company. . .

It is a great suggestion to rent before you buy so that you can be sure of where you want to live. I have a home in the Village of Lynnhaven, which is off of Buena Vista, up one roundabout from Arnold Palmer Legends Country Club. I know you want to work with a Property Management Company, which is fine for your first rental, but once you get here, you can drive around areas you like and look for rental signs on lawns. At least that happens in the historical side of TV.

There are lots of options to rent short or long term. I am a member of a group of local owners who rent their homes. DM me if you like. Also Air B n B has hundreds of excellent listings as well as Villages Homes 4 Rent.

Renting is a great idea to appreciate what the Villages has to offer. We visited multiple times before buying.

If you're considering buying new, think of renting south in the new areas. If you're considering buying used, rent somewhere in the middle. Between 466 and 466A would give you some access to the three squares and shopping. Get in a golf cart and explore.

When we started coming to The Villages, we rented from Bob Hyberger Rentals for 5 years before we bought. They have several properties and their web site shows photos of each. According to their web site, you have to contact them to inquire about availability. Each of our rentals were very clean and well equipped, and we were always very satisfied with our rental.

There are multiple options. You can check RVBO (same as OHMEAWAY), IZLLOW (.com for all) (first 2 letters reversed due to some sort of obfuscation within this site??) and others if you Google “rentals the villages Florida”. The issue you’ll have right now is this is prime season and most places are booked for vacationers escaping the cold. So homes aren’t sitting around unrented - especially for multiple months. I list my homes on the first one but the prime months are basically rented a year ago. If you come down in the summer, you’d have lots of options.

Please ask hometown property to work with you on 1849 Alton street in Linden. We rented the house for January and February. We ended up buying a house so don’t need the rental. Last I looked it is available for several months. It is a nice house in a good location.

We are on **** in historic, we are booked for Jan and mar...so Feb is open and wide open after March. The place has recently had lots if updates made. Check us out

Renting for a time is in my opinion a great idea. It is opinion. I've heard of people buying homes without even visiting the villages or seeing the home or at least a completed models. We as we were working could not as you have decided, wisely to do.
We did THREE TIMES use that service where the Villages allows you to rent a new home at a very reasonable price. It was a long time ago that we did this. If, I recall the limit was maximum of two weeks and it included a golf cart and bicycles. Pressure to buy is very minimal.

As to why people listing to rent who you contacted and did not bother to reply. Perhaps, they did not get your message? Perhaps, they were too rude to bother to treat others as they would want to be treated? If, the second is true, my opinion, they are not the kind of people I would want to deal with so you have not missed anything.

You did not say WHEN. Right now, it is holiday season. People looking to rent may be visiting relatives etc. Covid 19 may also complicate what should be, ought to be and was in the past. The past-last year.

There is a house the couple just bought and have listed for rent with remax. Its in pine ridge on kramer court.
