What Would You Do?

Did you see the GMC television commercial where the guy buys his wife a red GMC and himself a black GMC for Christmas? But, she takes the black one instead. I think most people believe that the vehicles are identical except for the color. But, if you look closely, the black one is a pickup truck and the red one is an SUV. So, the guy wanted a pickup truck and ends up with an SUV. Bummer. What would you do if you were the guy? Or, the woman?

alwann 12-24-2020 06:05 PM

Oh, I'd probably call Pendas or Dan Newlin or the Morgans and sue her for divorce.

It starts by her buying him sunglasses. The commercials are getting dumber than the shows.

manaboutown 12-24-2020 06:22 PM

A neighbor of mine and his wife drive matching black Land Rovers. He had bought her one and he liked it so much he got one for himself. I cannot tell the two vehicles apart except for the license plates.

I would return the SUV and get another truck.

Bikeracer2009 12-24-2020 07:41 PM

I would keep it and also buy a Ferrari.

Lindsyburnsy 12-24-2020 07:41 PM

Take the SUV back and get what he wants.

retiredguy123 12-24-2020 07:50 PM

I don't think returning a new vehicle is usually an option at most dealers.

Decadeofdave 12-24-2020 08:17 PM

Wait 2 weeks, she will be begging for the SUV after she parks that extended cab a couple times at Lowe's

Dayeight99 12-24-2020 08:21 PM

I would never buy GM.

Heck no! That is a big investment which depreciates right after you sign on the dotted line and if she doesn't like the car, you'll rue the day you made that decision. It'll be remembered for eternity.

These commercials are so silly.

Better than buying her a Peloton....

Since he has enough money to buy 2 new trucks, he should just buy a third?

I’d buy a Prius. With the seat down, I can carry boxes six feet long. I don’t need a truck or an SUV, and my Prius’s 55 mpg is five times what my girlfriend gets with her tank (Ford F-250, 11 mpg).

Mincey596 12-25-2020 11:55 AM

Grateful

Be grateful that I can afford to buy 2 cars and take the SUV!

I would check to see if I needed to heed the seat belt recall on either one or both vehicles. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyl...i4R1xN0g9SA8F0

GOLFER54 12-26-2020 06:04 AM

Return the SUV to the dealership then get the pickup truck you wanted and that way the wife keeps what she chose and you get what you wanted in the first place.

tsmall22204 12-26-2020 06:17 AM

If you pay close attention at the end of the commercial both are suvs

Cheapbas 12-26-2020 06:29 AM

The first gift were watches, I’d just return the SUV and get this

Not true. Look at it again. When they show the two vehicles that the guy purchased, the black one, selected by the woman, is clearly a pickup truck and the red one is an SUV. Yes, there is another scene at the end that shows a photo of two SUVs. But, these are obviously two different vehicles, and the man and woman are not in the final scene.

Scorpyo 12-26-2020 06:56 AM

Someone said it’s a silly commercial. I agree but it is cute and more importantly we’re talking about it so silly or cute it successfully made its point - get people to remember it and even talk about it. I thought about telling my wife that I was buying her a new car for her birthday (October 6th) then decided against it. I traded in her 2014 CR-V for a new 2020. If she liked the 14 why wouldn’t she love the 20 with all the new technology ? I was right. She loves it. If I took her the salesman would have tried to sell her the shiniest most expensive car in the showroom. Of course I bought myself a new Odyssey a couple of weeks ago. She loves her CR-V so much she doesn’t even want to drive my Odyssey. If I bought them both at the same time who knows what would’ve happened.

I cringe whenever I see that commercial! That presumptuous, imperious woman really gets under my skin!

As an aside to this response, the above noted law firms all note in their advertisements that they are INJURY ATTORNEYS. Now maybe they might take on domestic law cases, but that is not clear from the information that they routinely present.

Jus' sayin'

In my experience, dealers will take back new vehicles but you may not be happy with the financial end of the transaction

Yes, saw the commercial. Watch it again...in one clip it’s a pickup, on another a full SUV....oops.

I’d schedule her for a refraction because the truck was blue. 😜

TandHSTAR@AOL.com 12-26-2020 08:33 AM

It's a commercial folks. What do you mean she will change her mind once she parks it a few times. I used to drive a big 66 pass. School bus. Try parking one of those at the end of the day between two other buses. Backing up. I also trained people to get their CDL license. You know the most difficult people to train. Men. Most thought what does a woman know about training me to drive one of these monsters. It was fun watching them out on the road in neighborhoods with narrow streets. Light bulb came on "she knows what she's talking about" LOL. So don't say wait till she parks that big vehicle she'll want the Suv. LOL
