Old Cody’s Location Mulberry
 

Hi, any good rumors as to what might be going into this location. Cody’s was very convenient for us so we are hoping to get something good in there.

Costco.

Might be year or two if pandemic ever slows?

I don't know why people continue to claim that no restaurants are going to open during a pandemic.
Mission BBQ, Huey McGoo's, and Augustines 1812 beg to differ. All within a couple miles of each other.

There was mention before of who bought it but I can't remember. Hopefully something along the same line. Whoever they are it be great if they did a breakfast menu. Only one choice if you golf up in that area to go before or after golf. The other breakfast choice is the lame gas station items.

I hear it's going to be a restaurant called Twin Oaks but that's just a rumor.

A Rae Rae's annex in TV for breakfast before or after morning golf by golf cart. Now that's paradise.

I recall reading that Mojo Grill was going in there, but I don't know if that was a fact or someone's opinion.

I spoke with Rondo and he said it would kill his Bellevue business, so that's a no.

Sammy Jo's Pizza at Mulberry serves a great breakfast & so does Beef O' Brady"s. I don't think that the mid-Villages and the south Villages are the only two parts of the Villages that serve a good breakfast!!!

Someone cut and removed the cool banner scene on the West wall! It happened during the night a couple weeks ago!

RR isn’t going out of business but did file chapter 11 and did close 200+ Locations. Covid-19 cited as cause of woes. A really good chain.

We spoke with a local restaurant owner and suggested they should consider opening there. He said they looked into it and there is already a deal signed, but he didn't know who will be opening there.

We have a couple of other sources for info but have not gotten any definitive answers. The strongest rumors we've heard are Mojo's (Mojo's - Family, Fun, Food, and Community - Florida) and Ford's Garage (Fords Garage | Prime Burgers, Craft Beer, American Comfort Food).

I can see a Ford's Garage restaurant at that location. It meets their outside decor perfectly. I wish Portillos would look into coming to The Villages. It would be perfect here.

Ditto to Ford's Garage. Would also love to see Ledo's Pizza here. They have one in Orlando (a Maryland chain) and it is the best pizza ever.

Sammy Joe's is so so I think. They are ok. They don't open till 8 which is unfortunate. Last I heard Beef O'brady's no longer serves breakfast even after opening 100% unless they recently changed their mind. I would like to see them do breakfast again.

Who is RR?

My guess is Red Robin but they are hurting nationally right now. Over expanded and with the virus, they are closing locations already. It'll be years before they consider opening brand new ones. The one in Ocala may prevent them to have another RR within 25 miles unless the same operator wants to open a second location. This I highly doubt.

Look's like while Ford's Garage is the bigger chain with more locations all over Florida, Mojo grille is more local. I'd go for either one please.

The only problem is all the wait staff will be over 60. There's an image you won't be able to get out of your head for awhile.

Thats easy on your eyes after a few times in TV pools.
