Several tunnels will be closed in January 2021 for painting.
 
Got a message on Facebook that several tunnels will be closed for painting in January here in the Villages.

They will be painted in the evening hours, after many of us are tucked in for the night. There should be minimal upheaval to our routine.

We will be there from 1/8 to 1/17. Hope it doesn’t stop our nighttime runs to Steak n Shake and Walmart.

It was there in November when I was there, will be sad if they have closed since.

It’s about time they get painted. The one that was done a few yrs ago still looks amazing. I do wonder why the Saddlebrook Tunnel was not mentioned in the list of those to be done.

Saddlebrook tunnel not that dark. Probably the lightest tunnel due to direction in relationship to sun. But, I sure it’s on the schedule.

Ironic that The tunnel that was painted a few yrs ago that I mentioned faces the same direction as Saddlebrook. I don’t believe my comment mentioned it being dark. Why would Saddlebrook be the only one not mentioned in the list was my question.

Maintenence work is done year round. Besides, work done in the summer leads to "Why do they inconvenience us full timers?" comments.
