Two Dogs With Big Tumors Needing Removed - Get Your Quilt Raffle Chances
5 Attachment(s)
The rescue I am with, Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida, has taken in two two little senior dogs with BIG tumors that need to be removed. One little dog can barely walk. To fund the surgeries the rescue is raffling off a lovely, one-of-a-kind quilt by a wonderful lady who supports rescue. (See photos of dogs and quilt below. Also, info. on the poor little dogs is listed below).
WHO: Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida, a 501c3 nonprofit rescue WHAT: Online Quilt Raffle - measures 44" x 66". Well-made by an avid dachshund loving rescuer. This one-of-a-kind quilt is unique in that one side is a soft, silky mink fabric. WHERE: Online (Chances can be purchased online. The quilt will be mailed to the winner.) WHEN: Now thru Jan. 27th (Winner will be drawn live on the rescue's Facebook page on Jan. 28th at Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida.) We have the raffle posted in both locations on Facebook. PayPal: PayPal.Me Check send to: Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of FL 13435 S. McCall Rd. Unit 16, Box 135 Port Charlotte, FL 33981 For each chance purchased your name is written down on a spreadsheet. Example: you buy 50 chances, then your name is written down 50 times. Each line is assigned a number. An online random number generator will select a number. The name that corresponds to that number is the winner. Drawing is live Jan. 28th on the rescue's Facebook page. Here is info. on the two little dogs: Maple is a senior, 13 year old red girl—a big one--(at a whopping 36 pounds) who is loving and deserves the chance to live life without the encumbrance of a very large tumor on her chest and enjoy the rest of her life in comfort. She is also heartworm positive. The good news is we expect this tumor to be mostly benign and just a lipoma, but nevertheless, what a terrible thing to live with and it needs to GO. And then there is Little Bit, a senior black and tan girl of 10 years, 12.5 pounds (2.5 pounds of which, at the very least, is a large mammary tumor located between her back legs). She can hardly walk without it dragging the ground. And yet her foster mom reports she wags her tail constantly and has the sweetest disposition you could ever imagine! X-rays show no masses in her major organs and her bloodwork is good so this girl has a lot of life ahead of her. Thank you in advance for helping us to fund these surgeries and make a big difference in their lives! GOOD LUCK in the drawing!! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. |

Dachshund tumors
I just donated via Paypal $50 - no quilt required. May they have their surgeries soon. I do this in the name of my dog "LitBit" that I lost some years ago.

Thank you to this rescue and all animal rescues that work everyday to eliminate animals suffering.

Thank you for rescuing those precious munchkins! I've been involved in rescue for at least 30 years if not longer, and I love it! It's so rewarding. The quilts are beautiful.
|
I sent $35 for the raffle of the quilt but it never asked me what it’s for. I sent it thru PayPal a few minutes ago. This will help towards those 2 senior dogs.

Lil Bit's surgery is $2,400. Maple is in the process of being assessed, but believe that her charges will be around $1,000. Raised $1,685 so far. |
UPDATE: Lil Bit had her tumor removed and is doing well. I'm sure she is loving the fact that she can now walk without that big mass hindering her steps.
The rescue is still selling raffle chances on the quilt to pay for the surgery and for the other little dog, Maple's vet expeneses. In addition to having a tumor, too, Maple, came to the rescue with heartworms and will be going through heartworm treatment. I'm not sure if there are other medical issues or not. |
Forgot to mention that the rescue is a registered 501c3 nonprofit. Raffle chance purchases are not tax deductible, because you are getting something in return for your money. But if you decide to donate and do not want to participate in the raffle, then your donation is tax deductible.

Another new foster dog
1 Attachment(s)
I just wanted to share and ask for prayers for Winnie, another new little foster dog Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida has taken in. She was found roaming a parking lot and nobody claimed her. She has a a large open mass on the side of her face.
She is in the hospital now undergoing many tests to determine what this is. Her teeth are also terribly infected but we believe that the mass is unrelated. Doctors are suspicious of a cutaneous cancer. Her bloodwork is all good, organs functioning well. She has bacteria and yeast infections in both ears. She is on pain meds of course. Foster dad reports she is extremely loving and just wants to be a normal dog. We are ON IT! Please send prayers and positive thoughts her direction today. Let's deliver Winnie a "WIN" over this thing! |
And the winner of the quilt is....
