Vaccine site on CR466 has been dismantled
My sister had an appointment this morning for her first vaccine shot. Just to see what was going on, she drove past the drive up site. The tents are gone!

What a goat rope????:faint:

They go up and down fairly easily/quickly.
Remaining positive (!!!!) ....they rent them and no sense paying for not using?! ....they need them for a location that knows how to schedule?! Like they said in their web site the operation would be for the foreseeable future.....who would have thought it would be so short!!!! Credibility? Ground zero.....and holding. It will be a challenge to believe anything they say next? |

Received today in my District email account ->
important: Update about the Vaccine Supply Due to unforeseen circumstances surrounding the national vaccine supply, we are temporarily suspending the operation of the mass vaccination site in Sumter County. Here’s what you need to know: If you received an appointment for your second dose, your appointment will remain as scheduled until further notice. If we do not receive the necessary doses, we will reschedule your second vaccination appointment. All 7,500 scheduled appointments for first doses, including those who received scheduling codes but have not yet scheduled, have been placed on hold until we receive adequate supply of the vaccine. If you have registered but have not yet received a scheduling code, you will remain waitlisted in the order received. Rest assured, you will not lose your place on our registry. We will continue to process registrations for vaccines and place individuals on the waitlist to adequately assess demand and report those totals to the Florida Department of Health. Health Officials and team members are committed to the Sumter County community's needs and are working very closely with the State of Florida Department of Emergency Management and Florida Department of Health. We are prepared to resume vaccinations as soon as we receive notice that vaccine doses are available. |
It was posted in the Daily Sun and online in the Villages News and on the district website that they were closing this vaccination center. Keep up to date on happenings in the Villages with these resources

There are vaccine shortages everywhere and the gov has nothing to do with it.

There's an article in The *************.com today about GBR dismantling their site and skipping town with the remaining vaccine doses and "sensitive" patient/medical information. This is really concerning if it's true. When I registered with them for a vaccine, their system didn't ask for my SSN, but did ask for DOB, Medicare #, address, email, phone #, so they do have some info on me. I waited to register until after several sources insisted that this company was legit, including the Sumter Co Sheriff's office. Hopefully, this isn't another scam.

No sense hiring security guards to monitor that large space 24/7 when you can easily take it down, store it and then put it back up when ready to go again. After all, I seem to remember this all went up very, very quickly. To quote one of my favorite readers here "breathe". |
That's being quite optimistic.
|
When they announced the suspension of vaccinations because of a shortage, they indicated that they were moving everything into storage pods.
Really? Don't remember that one. |

It's probably why this is so screwed up.

May have been lucky
We just may have been lucky. How many have read of the serious reactions to the Moderna
Vaccine in California and that they suspended it until they establish the cause and effect? With this in mind and the fact that CMR would not state the reason for suspending the Villages vaccine I feel we may have been lucky in not getting it yet? We can't trust the Government to give us the facts since they have historically been misleading. Staying home and wearing masks now sounds great!!! Please don't tell me it was a "unique batch problem in California" as who knows the truth. We were told there was enough vaccine to take care of the ones who were scheduled and then all of a sudden it all disappeared? If you believe the crap the government is feeding us then I have a great bridge for sale in Brooklyn cheap. |
I really do hate to be a Debbie Downer, but has anyone been able to find out where else Global Medical Response is giving vaccines? On their website, the only one they speak about is the one in Sumter. I don't see any other vaccine centers listed, or any "news" about any other site. How many people did they "vaccinate" here, and can we be sure that these people actually got a real dose of real vaccine? This whole situation from having to give Social Security Numbers to them packing up after a few days seems very sketchy to me. Again, sorry for being an alarmist, and I hope I'm wrong.

California urges providers to halt use of batch of Moderna vaccines |

How can you disseminate information you don't have? Or know? That's just common sense. What is the problem with people who say they are desperate. Desperate for what? Why did everyone think 2021 was going to be a whole new world. What would change for folk if they had received both shots Right Now? Nothing really. Still would be wearing masks. Still would be social distancing. Still would be avoiding large gatherings indoors. As long as there are people who haven't been vacinated Nothing changes. My husband and I are in the group of 7,500 people who are waiting for their first appointment. So what. We will continue to be super cautious as Covid would probably be a death sentence for him if he caught it. Just be grateful you don't have Covid and we all can see a dim light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. :a040: |

Re read my note
Please reread my note. Don't tell me it is just one batch. Why did Calif. take that vaccine off
the treatments schedule(s) not just that batch until they establish why the reactions? Why is CMR not giving out the reason(s) for disappearing? Good luck believing some Government reason for running away from the Villages if they give a reason? :a040: |

Than they just tell the customer the facts. Should not be that hard. |
Folks let's all step back and take a breath here. We have come this far and we are still here. Take it a day at a time. We will have to wait our turn. I think for me it will be some time around June.

California Urges Stop to 300K Vaccines after Some Fall Ill LOS ANGELES (AP) — California’s state epidemiologist is urging a halt to more than 300,000 coronavirus vaccinations using a Moderna vaccine version because some people received medical treatment for possible severe allergic reactions. Dr. Erica S. Pan on Sunday recommended providers stop using lot 41L20A of the Moderna vaccine pending completion of an investigation by state officials, Moderna, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the federal Food and Drug Administration. “Out of an extreme abundance of caution and also recognizing the extremely limited supply of vaccine, we are recommending that providers use other available vaccine inventory,” Pan said in a statement. She said more than 330,000 doses from the lot arrived in California between Jan. 5 and Jan. 12 and were distributed to 287 providers. Fewer than 10 people, who all received the vaccine at the same community site, needed attention over a 24-hour period, Pan said. No other similar clusters were found. |
