Vaccines for those under 65 with health issues
My wife is only 62 and has an auto immune decease. How is she supposed to get registered when every site excludes her once she answers NO to the question if you are 65 or older?
|
Some with health issues and their caregivers have been able to access the vaccine through their physician.
Mass vaccination sites are unlikely to have the resources to properly screen (IMHO). |
i'd hesitate to get any vax if i were her, some have had deadly reactions, especially those with food allergies

I understand your frustration, it is getting on to a year and it is very hard not to have it be over. |
From the Health Dept:
"At the State of Florida website, there is a tab referring to the vaccination of medically vulnerable individuals. While a list of medical conditions or their severity is not available, over 28,000 vaccines were distributed to 27 large medical centers in Florida. The list of servicing hospitals may change over time. Please know that this activity is performed only by selected hospitals/medical centers (and not the health department). The nearest hospitals that received these doses for this purpose are: Advent Health Orlando, Orlando Health—Orlando Regional Medical Center, and UF Health—Shands Hospital. " I am aware of several immune suppressed people and their spouses who were vaccinated at one of these sites with Doctor's orders. |

Months ago my doctor told me not to get the shot when they started. Just recently I heard from him to schedule my shat at the hospital where I get treatments. Was there last Thursday and am scheduled to go back in 3.5 weeks. Just check with your doctor.

When the orders of the vaccination first went out again and again we were told those of us with pre-existing conditions would be getting them first it would have been very simple to set up the software for the websites or at least have something clearly written out along with the people above the idea of talking to your doctor first is a very good one my physician was given vaccination shots for the 65 and older group in his care as we are a low-income medical center. However that said you should write to your county whether your lake or Sumter the councilman as well as your state Representatives as to your problems in fact, they all have telephone numbers to be reached especially your state representative. You will find most of them are extremely cooperative and very willing to help you and all that you need. I have done this whenever I had a problem with the roads etc

my brother who is 61 got a card that he is a care giver for our 99 year old mother and they both got their shots the same appointment in Indiana - look in to getting a care giver statement or card for yourself from a doctor.

No mass system can or will be fair to all. I'm glad I do not need to make choices for all. |

What should be vs what is. We all know of people buying vests on Amazon stating their dog is a service dog same with special parking. |

Where did you hear that? Per science, nobody has died and only a very few have had bad reactions.

You need a new doctor.

So you (or your doctor?) need to contact one of those 3 hospitals to learn how to get on their list. |
First, a way I know works, go to a place taking first-come without appointments. Be sure to bring the letter from your doctor that she qualifies because of her co-morbidity. The second way that I suspect would work, would be to lie about her birthdate online and then bring the letter to the appointment and have them change her birth date. It also wouldn’t hurt to bring the executive order from DeSantis allowing under 65 with co-morbidities. That’s easy enough to find online.

My wife has a severe lung problem with the virus being a death sentence for her. I called the senator's office and they said it would be taken care of. A call from them 2 days later and they said they went to the idiot in charge of Sumter county health and he said NO WAY!!! no exceptions. I don't think he is very sensetive to people's needs in this county. We went to Lake county and she got her shots as well as myself.

Vaccines can cause anaphylaxis and other dangerous life-threatening side effects. - NIH (National Institute of Health) Example: The United States stopped giving mandatory smallpox vaccinations 30 years ago. Some people die from it; and others have serious reactions, some permanent. Scientists say it's the most dangerous vaccine known to man. - CBS News, 60 Minutes These new COVID vaccines were rushed into use with extremely short trial periods. According to the IFPMA, the development of novel vaccines is a long endeavor. It takes usually between 10 to 15 years to develop a novel vaccine, as well as establishing its quality, safety and efficacy. - International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations Thus, for those who have had COVID, getting vaccinated iis not only pointless but potentially dangerous. - David H.
