Dr. Michael Fountain...he's been treating my wife's non-invasive bladder cancer since we moved here in '17
he's excellent, invokes trust...great 'bedside manner', office help is fantastic....he was the top recommendation from her previous MD when we came here |
Key Consideration
As a Dr. at Lahey Clinic in Boston once told us, it is not important that [he] is the Doctor but the critical consideration is the team and technology that is behind him and supporting him". Giving this as a basis for the right Dr./Surgeon when making a selection we chose
Mayo Clinic Urology in Jacksonville. With out going into details this was done after there was a serious misdiagnosis of cancer locally and was based on getting a 2nd opinion. The decision saved a life and since then we have only used Mayo for medical needs. It is 2 1/2 hour drive from The Villages which is a small problem considering the risk associated with neglecting medical issues. |
Dr. Roach at Advanced Urology
I have free self catheter's FR14/4.7mm from Coloplast . Send me a PM & you can have them.

Recommend Dr fountain who was mentioned earlier

Dr. Yeung at UF if you can make it to him. He’s amazing but I’m sure the others listed above are good as well.

Dr Kirk solo practice, near Villages Hospital, Ohio transplant
Dr. Jack Cassell in Mt. Dora. He's the only urologist in the area who is familiar with HIFU(high frequency ultrasound), an advanced, modern method to treat prostate cancer, with less side effects.

I used DR Richard Roach Advanced Urology. Number in Leesburg 352 787 4567. I had a prostate biopsy. Waited weeks for them to to an MRI to pick targeted areas. Was told likely prostate cancer. You are led to believe it is a rush, teasing a bit-get your will in order. Then it was 3-4 week for them to do the biopsy. You,I wanted it done yesterday. In the end results were negative. I am not an easy patient. I hope the doctors are all sitting around waiting for my call. Unfortunately there is something called reality. |
Used Dr. Sher for 15 yrs and he is excellent. With the added benefit that he is one of the very few doctors I have ever encountered who runs on-time appointments!
Yep try anyone there. You can go online to ratings to see what people grade them - web md etc.
I also vote for Dr Dersch. He is a very caring doctor.
Dr. Dersch my wife’s doctor. I see. Dr. Rao ( does robotic surgery to remove the prostate). Excellent. But there are several good ones in Advanced Urology. 466. Behind Walmart.
Dr. Edward King, Advanced Urology (near 466 Walmart) 352-430-0705. Both my wife and I have had need of his services, including procedures for removal of stones, and have been very pleased.
Dr. James Young off Hwy 466 before Rolling Acres. Its Prostate Evaluation Center but does all urology. Had an impossible time with Advanced Urology and found Dr. Young. He was superb with my dad.
I have free self catheter's FR14/4.7mm from Coloplast . Send me a PM & you can have them.
Use Dr. Jason Gerboc he is VERY good and works close with waterman hospital. He’s one of a handful of doctors that will allow you to do an MRI prostate exam which is what you want, do NOT do a biopsy do not be fooled into doing a biopsy it is not as effective and it is much more invasive.
