Anyone else planning travel after their Covid vaccination?
.
. Tomorrow we will both have our second Moderna vaccination. Done. We have planned and booked air to go visit the 'kids & grandkids' - Our 4 kids & 8 G-kids. In June<>July, to L.A. then to Seattle, then to St Louis, then to Exeter N.H. Decided that after a full year of yada-stuff and limited travel - we're DONE with that. Even though none of our kids or g-kids will no doubt not get the vaccine by then - so be it. We'll all be just fine. We also have a credit with Royal Carribean and will book a cruise, probably for early 2022 - if they open cruises THIS year, we want to wait. Anyone else planning travel after getting vaccinated? .................................. Also in the News today (not that it had ANY bearing on our decision...> The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released guidelines Monday designed to ease restrictions for Americans who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The agency’s guidance state those who have received a full course of COVID-19 vaccine may get together with other fully vaccinated individuals in small groups inside their homes without masks or physical distancing. They can also visit with unvaccinated people from one other household who are at low risk for severe disease. The guidelines also say fully vaccinated people don’t need to quarantine or take a COVID-19 test if they’ve been exposed, unless they’re symptomatic. However, they should still monitor for symptoms for 14 days even if they're not in quarantine. “You can visit your grandparents if you’ve been vaccinated and they have been, too,” CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said in a White House briefing Monday. “If grandparents have been vaccinated, they can visit their daughter and her family even if they have not been vaccinated, so long as the daughter and her family are not at risk for severe disease.” . . |
I plan on visiting my Daughter and Grandkids for a week this summer in Boston.
hell yeah. Booked on Viking in June and to Greece in October.
I had my second shot on February 19 and my husband got his yesterday. I officially declare March 21 to be Forget Fauci Day. It’s time to get on with our lives. I’ll mask and social distance when necessary but it’s time to see family whether or not they are vaccinated. I don’t have forever to wait for the whole world to be given the vaccine.

Considering a road trip out west someplace when it gets warmer just not sure about staying in hotels right now.
We do have a cruise booked in December and will see if they will allow cruising than. |
YES!
Westward ho RV trip August-October!!! Cruise booked for Thanksgiving (). |
Booked a cruise to Russia. 2022. Going to Vancouver island in May going to see the new grand kid in oregon may . so I would say yes we are as well
Oh yes coming to the villages as well
Not much change, we were with grands all last year until October. Never been on a cruise. No plans for much travel, everyone coming here, cause it’s still really cold where they live. One vaccinated, other half, will not be.
Heck yeah! Going to Indiana for granddaughter’s Covid delayed wedding. Have an Amtrak trip planned for late spring. Might use our next Covid checks for a trip to Hawaii!
We never stopped traveling. We went to Mexico in September, been to MA every two months, Biloxi/New Orleans for 4 nights and just got back from Las Vegas for 6 nights.
We havent been vaccinated yet. Well, hubby has had one shot. We mask where we must. That being said, i wouldnt cruise for free. I hated it the one and only time we went on one. Looking to spend 3 weeks in Curacao in the summer. |
No. Still risky even after fully vaccinated. Pfizer and and Moderna vaccines have 95% efficacy. Behave like you’re one of the 5% failure group.
Yes folks keep spreading the virus.. oh you will all still be wearing masks sure ...............
Absolutely not, see CDC guidelines.
Why would anyone listen to what the CDC says. They are not a government agency and they are in the business of pumping out vaccines. They are basically a warehouse. But people
Keep buying into this smoke and mirrors |

We will head to Nebraska and our Grandkids around memorial day and have a great time,, our friends there will also be vaxed so we will visit them also- what we have been waiting for. Time to start enjoying our retirement that started when covid arived.
We will drive, not fly and have no issues with staying in a hotel Have a cruise booked for March 22, 2 were cancelled before that. Releived to try and get back to the new normal |
Yes. Summer in our motorhome resort in northern Michigan (Traverse City). We skipped last summer and are looking forward to getting back up there.
We traveled last year several times. No problems at all. We're waiting now to see if our cruise in August is canceled like our one last year.
I’d say Google each state’s requirement for inbound/outbound travelers as it relates to quarantining after being vaccinated. Some still have “waiting periods” or proof of vaccination requirements.
Never stopped traveling by air. Took all precautions everywhere we went and all has been fine. Now fully vaccinated and allowing visitors to come here too. Always take all precautions, vaccinated or not, and go on with your life.
Done with it all, though you and others that feel the way that you do can certainly stayed holed up for another year or so. My life has remained essentially the same with the exception of a few canceled cruises and trips that have been rebooked.
We are leaving for Laughlin, NV in 6 weeks. We also went once in Oct. We wore masks, distanced and washed our hands but after that I decided not to go anymore. Didn't want to tempt fate. Now we have both had our shots and we are traveling again.
Just got back from Tucson on our vaccine vacation. Great to be traveling again. Still had to wear masks on the plane and in hotel common areas but great to be on the road again.

We are visiting family and friends up north.
We waited the 3 weeks after our 2nd Pfizer shot. Still wearing masks out in public, because most stores still require it. Airlines require masks! Still washing hands ✋ |
Follow the science and make informed decisions. For example, depending on your immune system, you can still contract COVID 19 even if vaccinated. The latest science is that your symptoms will be milder and you likely will not need hospitalization nor a ventilator. Whether you can spread the virus after vaccination is still being evaluated although early data from other countries shows you are less likely to infect others. If you have other health factors then consult your own physician. Be sensitive to others who may not have been vaccinated, particularly if you travel to third world areas or visit grand children.
We're between 60 and 65, so will be eligible for vaccine starting next week. Unfortunately, our grandkids are in Germany, so whether or not we can visit them after getting out shots will depend on what Germany/EU allow when. Very much hoping to! We really miss the little tykes. (Oh, and our daughter, too!)
Planning on spending the summer in California with my kids and grandkids.
YES! Heading to NJ for Easter and seeing my family. How blessed am I?!
We’re headed to our home state of Wisconsin in May for a wedding. We’re going to fly into Chicago, get a car, buy some pot and edibles before moving on to Wisconsin.

Taking a chance
I’m going with science, you will be 95% immune. I’m taking the 5% chance and getting along with my life. No buts so save the debating.
We have tickets to return to our other home in Arkansas at the end of April. The airlines are currently requiring a COVID negative test within 3 days of travel. With masks, seems safe. We will have our final shots next week. I really hate staying in motels (even before the pandemic), and prefer our trailer when possible. Can hardly wait to book another cruise when things really settle down.

They just came out that if you are vaccinated you can visit a house hold without issue and that you should still wear a mask when in public. Sounds like you should be good to go. We are traveling from Mass to The Villages in a couple week by car to enjoy a vacation and close up our house for the summer. We have a cruise booked for Sept 2022 as well. Camp opens in May in Madbury NH and our boat will go into the water sometime in May. Finally we have already started looking at flights Dec 2021 to our timeshare in Aruba. It will be our first flight since the first week in March 2019. Hopefully my doctor will be good with all of that.
