Are there any locations in The Villages area that is providing the The J&J/Janssen vaccine? I can not find any online.

The Walmart in Leesburg looks the only one that has J&J right now.

Thank you for the link. Presently they are out of vaccines. The J&J is the hardest to find. I thought my best bet would be a healthcare provider that is not on the vaccines sites that someone knew about.

Publix takes reservations for the J&J vaccine on Wednesdays - if they believe they will get a shipment of the vaccine.

People try before 7am and wait to book at 7am. Some have trouble booking on that site. Publix canceled bookings for J&J this past Wednesday. (I think they give J&J on Saturdays and Sundays so maybe it being Easter had an effect). Maybe they'll have appointments available to book this Wednesday. Good luck!

Mondays and Fridays are Publix days for booking the other Covid vaccines.

I kept checking and today found appointments were open for J&J in Brevard County at a few independent pharmacies.

Some news from the Washington Post last week:
"It emerged on Wednesday that a batch of Johnson & Johnson vaccine was recently contaminated with AstraZeneca ingredients at the Emergent plant, as two federal officials described the problem, in a mix-up that spoiled enough raw vaccine for up to 15 million doses."

This is why I believe this particular vaccine is hard to find these days.

Publix only gives vaccines on weekends and they didn't give any this past weekend because of the Easter holiday.

Some area Walgreens and Winn-Dixie stores administer the J&J vaccine. I got mine at the Walgreens on 441 in Tavares. My friend got hers at the Walgreens on Kristine Way in Lake Deaton plaza. My husband got his at the Winn-Dixie near Spanish Springs. You have to keep checking their websites several times a day and confirm which vaccine they offer as some stores have J&J and others have Moderna or Pfizer. Good luck!

the Publix site opens up on Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM for you to make an appointment for the following Saturday or Sunday for the J&J vaccine.

Try calling 352-815-2216. It’s the number that called me from Sumter County to get the vaccine.

Its rare to find and last I heard they werent getting them delivered here for awhile

Using the link provided above , Walmart in Leesburg has them “in stock” according to the site .

I used 32163 and 25 miles in the search .

The Walmart is 8.something miles away ....

2 weeks ago Winn Dixie had it but was completely booked. I went into talk to the woman at a 3:45 p.m., she told me to come back at 5:45 p.m. 5 people didn't show up. I got one of the J&J vaccines.

Are you aware of the news about the snafu at the J&J production site with the contamination and the millions of doses that (thankfully !) had to be destroyed ? This, coupled with the slightly lesser effectiveness rate of J&J may make it harder to find for awhile. Keep checking with your doctor; ours has a sign in his office that it will be available, but, of course no date !

I am going for my J and J vaccine this afternoon at CVS in Williston (between Ocala and Gainesville) - about a 75 minute drive from my house. To find the J and J , I went to the CVS site, then just kept typing in various zip codes that the google map told me were within an hour or so of my house. Once you tell CVS what zip code you want it to search, it tells you which stores can book appointments and which vaccine they have. Very very few have J and J but Williston did. I had to try about seven different zip codes, then I tried another 10 or so just to make sure there were none closer.

I had no luck whatever searching for J and J at Winn Dixie or Walgreens. As others said, you can only book J and J at by going to their site at 7am on Wednesday morning, and at no other time for Publix. The "public" sources, e.g., Sumter County, seems to be the worst at obtaining J and J but that does not mean it is impossible.

It may be easier just to show up and Winn Dixie hoping people did not show up for their shot - but I think you should call first to make sure they have it. Within a couple of weeks I think it will be easy to find J and J, but it is difficult now, and places that have it can run out at one day's notice.

If I were to consider a vaccine it would be the J&J vaccine. However I am not.

Walgreens at Lake Deacon had them on Saturday.

Unfortunately they don't give the option when you make the appointment

Winn-Dixie gives J&J. I just checked. Go to their site and select a date a week out using 32163 zip code and you can schedule an appointment. Most people seem to wait until the morning to try I scheduled mine about 11:00 p.m. with no problems.

You just have to keep looking. I check every day. I just got appt at Walmart in Bushnell.
