Anyone use the NEW Car Wash on 466a near Lowes yet?

Sweetwater Car Wash.

I heard they opened a couple days ago and had free car washes for a while. We REALLY needed a car wash in the area.

Any feedback from customers yet? I like to wash my own, but occassionally a good thorough car wash, esp the undercarriage is a good thing.

Took advantage of the free wash yesterday.....when I got home my wife looked at the car and said it looked like it was just waxed.....the result was better than any drive through I have used anywhere. I bought one of the Club memberships (not the one that provides that waxed look but may upgrade) since it allows unlimited washes. Think Lovebugs :). We will see how it goes but the initial experience was positive.

Whodatsaywhodat 04-04-2021 08:28 PM

They are not cleaning the insides until they can hire adequate staffing but the outside was cleaned very well. They allow you to use the vacuums to clean the insides yourself for free. I had plenty of dead bugs on the front of the vehicle and the wash removed them. So far I'm very satisfied.

OK - plan to go there today. I went into Sweetwater Car Wash web site. Checked services etc.

The Villages is their 5th location in the Greater Orlando area - most in or near Orl. I was very surprised that (per their site), the Express Wash is $10 at our location - $8 at all the other locations. hmmm. And, "The Villages" location is NOT in TV - it's north of 466a - so not paying the TV premium.

I also took advantage of the free car wash and was pleased with the look of my car. So, I will use them instead of traveling way up north to the other car wash on 441.

Guess I will continue to give my wife all of my washing business

Is it a 'touchless' auto car wash?

Tell her to pray for rain soon. Car washing is so much easier while it's raining.

She does not like to get wet or would do that

bhoward 04-05-2021 03:10 PM

I got the free one Saturday and it was excellent. It was the $25 wash which I think is pricey. Maybe I'll treat myself to one every 3months. I tipped them since it was a freebee.

bowlingal 04-06-2021 06:33 AM

Dean...it's ON 466A in Wildwood ( not the Villages)

jimkerr 04-06-2021 06:37 AM

No way. I love my cars too much. Those washes scratch the heck out of your car. That’s why your paint looks like it has swirls. The detailer in me cringes with these washes unless they are 100% touchless.

TandHSTAR@AOL.com 04-06-2021 06:57 AM

Have any of you tried washing the car yourself. I do it. Sure you can too.

J1ceasar 04-06-2021 07:10 AM

If you've waxed your car. The brushes should not affect the paint. Waxing should be done once every 6-12 months even the spray on waxes will help

How would a touchless car wash work?

MoNonnon 04-06-2021 08:01 AM

Back in NY, we paid $4.00 for a quick wash.....just sayin’

merrymini 04-06-2021 08:23 AM

Glad to have a car wash instead of having to go so far north. Waiting until they do the inside too.

daca55 04-06-2021 08:28 AM

Is this car wash similar to the Village Car Wash where they have people who dry, vacuum and wash your windows? Or is it just a drive through and you do everything else?

It just sprays water. No brushes touch the car. Sam's Club has one touchless and one non-touchless. The cost is 7 dollars.

I'm sure he knows that it's Wildwood just like everybody who can't cross 466a with a cart, but the Sweetwater website calls it their Villages location. Nobody's blaming the developer for the 25% difference in basic washes... yet.

Wonder what the differnce in rent is between the two locations?

diannedobies 04-06-2021 12:39 PM

Paid $20.00 and didn't know that this doesn't include the inside. I'll stick with the Villages car wash !!

When they start full service it won't be worth the 3 bucks to drive to The Villages Car Wash.

Sweetwater Car Wash - 466a near Lowes.

Well, I went there today. We have a white SUV and it fortunately does not get too dirty - primarily driving in the rain causes that.

The car wash is very nice, and comforting that all is new equipment. I "splurged" for the Express wash -$10. They did a bit of pre-wash; soap-sprayed the front, windows, mirrors, and rear - and wiped those down maually.

Something new for me, this car wash doesn't have those narrow tirewide tracks - they seem to be a couple feet wide and rollers; very smooth.

Seems to be the usual sprays/cloth brushes etc etc - but more of them. They DO contact the car, but not worried - and they surely WOULD get any dirt/grime off. Near the end there is some extra rollers and sprays and wheel stuff - no doubt used for the Premium wash extras.

At the end - the blowers did a great job blowing excess water off the vehicle - and NO water spots either.

When it's all done, the light turns green and off you go, turn left and there are rows of free vacuums. Used that - and **warning** those suckers are extremely sucky - would easily take a small towel, sweater or such - almost TOO powerful.

Bottom line, I still kinda like to wash the car - but every once in a while, will go there for a 'deep clean'.

Dean,

Our tunnel uses a neoglide foam and not a brush so the paint will not be "beaten" or scratched. You're more than welcome to come take a look! We aren't afraid to show anyone the material we use to clean cars. After years of cleaning 1000s of cars, we are confident in our equipment and transparent about what we are using to clean cars in the community.

Ceasar,

Even without wax, the tunnel uses a neoglide foam that will not scratch the vehicle. Waxing is typically best done within 3 months. This can vary based on how often the car is in the sun, how much overspray (from driving on highways, through construction, going to the beach etc), and how often you get a wax applied by orbital + how often you get a tunnel applied wax. If the car is garage kept, is cleaned often with additional chemicals (wax, paint protectant, and ceramic) then you can stretch out pretty far. A wash club (like ours) is generally recommended too to avoid the "I'll get that bug splatter cleaned tomorrow whereas you find yourself a week later cleaning it off.

Touchless autos literally do not touch the vehicle and are closer to throwing water on the car, applying chemicals, throwing water on, and then blow drying the car. Our tunnel is safe for vehicles and will not scratch the vehicle. We use a neoglide foam and are happy to talk with anyone in regards to the materials and even show you the material that touches your car.

Back in New York we missed paying only $5 for a real pizza. Our current manager, Adam, would probably spend 20 minutes with you about pizza and bagels if you ever stop by for a chat!

Hi Merry,

We are currently doing what's known as a limited full service. Since we are still too understaffed to allow unlimited full service, we are able to do between 1-6 cars depending on the time of day. We know this has been a sore point for the community as some people come in but we feel responsible for providing a service that is what we advertise, for the price we advertise, and that, within reason, everyone gets what they pay for. By allowing everyone in at once, we cannot guarantee the quality that not only that the villages expects but also the quality we expect as well. We are hiring as quickly as we can and we are proud of our team members who choose to be a part of the workforce during a time where the majority of people are choosing not to be. For the time being, please check in often as we are slowing staffing up and expect to be offering full services without limiting them very soon!

Yes we are! We are known as flex car wash. You can either go through our tunnel and vacuum yourself or you can purchase a full service where we clean the windows, vacuum, wipe down your dash and console area and more!

Wow I find it hard to believe so many people seem to get so excited about a car wash. I must be missing something or live in a bubble. I can honestly say my car in FL really doesn't get dirty. It can go for a year or more and only have water spots on it that are not very noticeable. You need to live in NY where you could wash your car every day in the winter and it could be really dirty the next day with real sloop/mud tracked inside. It could be I just have the really good sun glasses and my wife can testify I also have very good selective hearing.

Tried them last weekend, great price, great job. Everybody was really kind. Refreshing! Thank you Sweetwater!
