Ok, so I have never seen this before (nor do I want to again), and I would hope none of you have seen it as well. Bear with me as I set the scene for you......

Last night I was walking my dog along Stillwater and turned into the parking lot at Mallory Pool. There was a single golf cart parked in the first slot, with no one inside, nor did I see anyone around. My thought was that a person was walking their dog (or dogs) and might be behind the pool. We continued on walking along the sidewalk towards the postal station. My dog stopped, walked into the grassy area between the pool and the postal station, about 4-5 feet and stared. I always carry and use my flashlight so I shined it to the back area and a guy popped out from behind the hedges (he didn't have a dog), walked towards us and then veered through the landscaping to walk around the postal station as if he might be getting his mail.

My dog turned around and we proceeded to walk to check to see if I had mail, and then my dog decided he wanted to circle behind the postal station (yes he does have me well trained). My dog walked along the hedge row and then stopped near the hedges on the corner where the guy suddenly popped out. My flashlight revealed a surprise lying on the ground at the base of the hedge. Can you guess what the twist is? Well not quite that, but real close. Lying there was a pair of men's briefs which appeared to be freshly soiled. Needless to say, I wouldn't let my dog near it, we circled back around the postal station. When we got around to the front of the postal station, the guy who had popped out drives by in the golf cart I saw near the Stillwater side of the the pool area, and exits on the Odell side.

Now I will be the first to admit I did not see him leave this "package", but sometimes you just KNOW it. I decided to give him (or the culprit) the benefit of the doubt that he would go back and cleanup after himself. I waited to post this in the hopes that would happen, but the briefs were still there tonight.

So....a poop thread with a twist....another thread on the "entitled"...you can decide for yourself. I know, a cr*ppy situation :icon_wink: no matter which way you look at it.

Was he drunk? Maybe the bushes are magnet like the electric boxes?

I did not see the man stagger, nor did he seem erratic in the golf cart. I wasn't close enough to him to determine if he smelled of alcohol nor could I determine if he was under the influence of any other substance.

Around 1965, my dear grandfather was on a business trip by car when he developed what turned out to be a sudden allergy to wheat or gluten. Back then, not much was known about that, and he nearly died in the hospital before it was diagnosed. Anyway, he was in the road with uncontrollable runs. I remember him telling me that at one point he pulled over and did it in his shoe, as there was a lot of traffic and he couldn’t do it outside. He lamented that he had ruined a good pair of Florsheims.

Whoever this “culprit” was, I’m sure it was an emergency and that he is filled with shame over it. I hope he is okay now. It’s also on the Royal coat of arms.

Crohn's Disease Symptoms And Types And How They May Affect You

Krohns disease, also called Irritable Bowel disease is more common as people age. It has nothing to do with "being privileged".

Approximately 3 million U.S. adults are estimated to have ever received a diagnosis of IBD, a disease that is associated with decreased quality of life, substantial morbidity, and complications requiring hospitalizations and surgical procedures (2–4). This is almost three times the number of adults previously estimated to have IBD based on administrative data sources and limited geographic coverage (6,8,9).

Differences in IBD prevalence among a number of sociodemographic subgroups reveal that prevalence is not uniform across the U.S. adult population. Consistent with past research that found the prevalence of both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis increase with age (8), a higher prevalence of IBD was found among adults aged ≥45 years in this nationally representative population. Furthermore, a significantly higher prevalence of IBD among non-Hispanic whites was found, consistent with racial/ethnic differences previously reported using 1999 NHIS data (7). However, other results differed from previous reports. For example, although the current study found no significant differences in the prevalence of IBD by health insurance coverage type among adults aged <65 years or ≥65 years, previous analyses using claims data found that commercially insured persons had a higher prevalence of IBD than did persons insured by Medicaid (5). Furthermore, significant regional (5,7,8) and sex (7,8) differences identified in past research were not found in this study. Finally, significant differences among sociodemographic characteristics such as education level, employment status, nativity, and poverty status were identified in this study, but not elsewhere. Other researchers have speculated that subgroup differences likely exist for many of the same measures, but small sample sizes and less heterogeneous populations have limited their ability to produce stable, reliable estimates (9). Inconsistencies in findings might also be attributable to differences in data collection methods (e.g., survey data versus claims data) and geographic coverage (e.g., county level versus national level).

Just more proof that it’s never the dogs fault when poop is left on the ground.

Being in an older community there are people who suffer from all types of ailments, possibly he has Crohns disease or chronic IBS, and when that pain hits you, he may have been really upset and at least tried to hide. The fact that you saw him, no doubt he was startled and possibly embarrassed and took off quickly.

And so life goes on here is The Villages........

I feel bad for the guy. He was probably out on his cart-in a tough moment, saw the building and thought...." oh, thank God!".....but no- the doors were locked. At that point- no stopping nature....and then YOU came along.

It is interesting that you find that so offensive and yet walking your dog on public, community property is not.

I don't think the problem is that the man had an accident. Let's face it, that could happen to anyone, if the bathrooms are locked and we have an urgent need. The problem is that he just left his mess lying there for someone else to cleanup! That is not acceptable. We are all expected to clean up after our pets, for goodness sakes, why would he not just take his mess and throw it in the trash, rather than leaving it for someone else to pick up? That is what I think the poster was trying to say. He even gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was going to go back and clean it up later and checked, but it was still there. If this person can't remember to do that, perhaps he should not be driving a golf cart, right? If he can't remember to clean up after himself, he might need to be in assisted living, rather than out driving a vehicle at all. IMHO

He may have been startled and embarrassed when he saw Op and simply wanted to avoid drawing attention to himself. So he pretended to check his mail and got the heck out of there. Under the circumstances, that seems pretty understandable.

And I was just going to look at dogs....thank you, I can cross that off my list!

Maybe he’s got a weird Fetish! You better just chalk it it up as a weird dream!

He may have planned on cleaning up but since he was being stalked by a barking dog and a person with a flashlight that would not move on, I can see why he would just run.

I wound up nearly naked one night around 2012 at my front door after walking the dog on a night like the one you described. Threw away my shoes, underwear, socks and had to soak my shorts.

I carried Publix plastic bags to gather my dog's droppings so just had put everything in one of those.

And everyone else at home was in bed by then.

Was under a lot of stress at the time.

Not sure how I would have reacted if a Villages' Watch person had flashed me with a light in such a situation.

Having spent a large part of 40 years in third world countries Asia,Africa and Central and South America I can tell you stuff happens and very quickly sometimes

Maybe he just couldn’t make it home and would have come back with a bag to scoop them up in. Just saying...

That or any number of options. It seems we should give people the benefit of the doubt instead of jumping on them when we don't know the circumstances.

This thread really disturbs me. It never should have been started. What that man went through and people think it's funny. I am shaking my head that people are that cruel.

11000 views so far. You just can't go wrong with a "poop" thread. Many years ago as we would ride in the car every weekend from May till Oct to our summer home (130 miles one way) . When my children were around 8 to 10 years old we would have the meaningful life lessons conversations that they dreaded since I had them captured for 2 1/2 hours. If silence prevailed for too long I would burst out with "poopie poopie poopie" and they couldn't contain themselves in laughter. Their in their forties now and we still do it today. Poop is magical.

Yes, I agree with you 100%. Some folks do have medical issues, food poisoning etc., but in this case the man should have done the right thing and disposed of the briefs in a nearby receptacle.
