If Yamaha you might have go to dealerships or order blanks online aNd there not cheap. That’s what I have do few years go?

OP, if you are after additional duplicate keys, you can try lowes and ACE. Generally the golf carts have 'standard' keys, for example Yamaha has 5 or 6 keys for the ignition not sure about the locking glove compartments. If you bought the cart new i would go back to the dealer, if not you can try a dealer selling the same make.

If Yamaha then there are 2 different key blanks. You will need to have your current key so they can see the 4 digit code. Go to one of the 4 Yamaha dealers here in TV. The keys cost about $5-6 each. Then you take your old key and new blank to ACE in Spanish Springs and they will cut it for you at whatever cost. Might check with the other ACE stores.

Get a privacy key for your cart only at The Villages Golf Carts

Got mine from a locksmith

I ordered a couple of go cart ignition units from Amazon. They came with 4 keys alike and two units and I changed the units out on my two golf carts. Now they are keyed alike and just different than all the other golf cart in TV. I kept the old Yamaha units in case I ever sell one of the carts I can put the original unit back on the cart

We had all about carts change our key fob (ignition key) so nobody can use another Yamaha key to take our golf cart.

Last summer (June 2020) I had duplicate ignition keys for my Yamaha made at Lowes. They could not do the glove box. Tried Villages Golf Cars, and they said they could not make duplicates of the glovebox because the glovebox was not made by Yamaha. It is an aftermarket add on.

I went one step further, I installed an universal AUTOMOTIVE ignition switch which has a unique key (actually came with 4 keys). This has the advantage of an accessory position so i can have the radio or fan on without the EFI, running lights, etc on. These switches are available for about $15 at most of the auto parts stores, and the keys are all different. NOTE: I did not use the start position.

As long as for key code for particular style? I think I brought mine at villages golf carts for around 12 bucks then, went to hardware store to get it cut, been few years ago. |

One word of caution, ALL of the carts I worked on had 2 wires to the ignition switch, I have seen carts with 4 wires, and i have NOT looked into the exact wiring on the 4 wire switches. |

Same here...we have club car with unique keying, we needed dups...had to go to Leesburg locksmith...but he was fast and nice. |
You have to buy a blank at the Villages Golf Cars for $7.00 each and get it cut at Ace Hardware. The Yamaha keys are cut on both sides. There are two cuts for each key.
