"Exhausted defending the President"
Has anyone seen this Town Hall meeting where this woman tells the President she is tired of defending the President in light of deteriorating economic reality? I think it's hilarious!!
You can also click on the President's response at this link and see if it comforts you. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid...nding_you.html |
Here's what scares, makes me mad, frustrates me...I don't know the correct words. Maybe dumbfounds me is what I'm looking for. When Obama said, "The life you described; one of responsibility, looking after your family, contributing back to your community that is one we want to reward."
That is what he wants to reward? Excuse me. |

The comment was in the context of the recession being declared 'over', and the woman still being frustrated by slow employment recovery. The President simply said that the kind of personal qualities this person exhibits are the stuff America is made of (my words) and the kind of attitude and effort the government considers most valuable and wishes to nurture and support. Support comes from things like extended unemployment benefits, tax incentives to businesses to hire and expand, access to health care, etc. (Sorry it took me so many words to express what seems a simple thought.) |
Nice response

In my eyes and to my ears this woman expressed her frustration with waiting for promises unfullfilled and unrealized, and wondering how much more her family had to endure in waiting for this utopia unrealized. The Presidents response was smoke and mirrors and had nothing to actually ease this woman's real concerns. It was a classic Obama farce. To get anything else out of the exchange, to me, rather naive.

Make believe you are in his shoes. Tell me what you would say to this woman. Go ahead. Make it genuine, meaningful and even consoling if you can. You've even got the advantage of time to reflect...... |

1. This recovery is still fragile and we do not want to go into a double dip. Therefore I will support extending the Bush tax cuts for another five years. 2. I would say that we are going to cut government expenditures in every agency and start to reign in entitlement programs and eliminate every program that places an unfunded mandate upon the states. 3. I would say, correctly, that we have put in needed financial reforms - but recognize that some have gone too far including the 1099 reporting regulations. 4. I would be honest with the American people and say that taxes on companies that are supposed to save money for employees and consumers not only do not work but discourage research, development and manufacturing within the United States- and that I would introduce legislation to eliminate them. This is what I would say in order to be honest with the American people.I leave it up to you for the consoling words. If it were me, I would say something similar to what Sir Winston Churchill said upon assuming the duties of Prime Minister ..."I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat." Climbing out of the hole we have dug ourselves into - energy dependence, balance of trade, budget deficits, etc will require sacrifice by all Americans. It is better to start today than after the ..... election. I hope that the American people do not need to be consoled but rather rise to the challenge of securing the future for posterity. |

When a "leader" does not know what works, or how to change or stop
or start something....and does not know the impact of what he is doing or not doing he of course is not leading and is relying on trial and error. And since he has surrounded himself with like or lessor in capacity than he is....no added value there either.
The answer is he is not a leader. His words and his actions every single day do no more than confirm he does nothing unless it is for political gain. He will continue to play safe and flail back and forth with opinions and popularity to suit the moment or the audience. He maintains the blame the other guy for lack of progress....because he does not know enough about anything to take on the responsibility. He is very consistent in his lack of leadership ability. As an executive he would not have made it one year in corporate America with this kind of non-performance. btk |

"No!!!! I'm a little frustrated, but I know it's going to take longer for employment to catch up with the the other improvements in the economy. Pleeeease don't give up on the path which has worked thus far, just because there are some loud people out there, (who have also benefitted from, and will continue to benefit from those actions in the future), who just like to complain and criticize. Their formulas are not magic, and you are already taking the best elements and incorporating them in your programs. NOBODY would even be remotely suggesting that the recession was over were it not for the legislation and other steps pushed by the administration in eighteen short months. I realize you could have been wishy-washy and tried to please everyone, but you've had the courage to say and do the things that have to be said and done to get us out of this mess. Instead of hearing nothing but 'no', I say 'yes', stay the course, and thank you Mr. President" |
Now this is a partisan blame aybody but the current
administration record breaking whopping extrapolation:
"that program led us to the worst financial calamity since the 30's" It is the single solitary culprit that "LED" the way. With such an assessment now we know all we have to do is cancel or not renew those programs and that will most certainly LEAD back to prosperity. And as the saying goes if you buy that I got two more for ya!!!!!!:a040: btk |

Why is it that liberals tend to forget that the last two years Bush was president the dems controlled the house and senate but only point fingers one way? One of the best analysis of this economic situation I have read said it started with changes incorporated under Bill Clinton and was furthered by subsequent failures by BOTH sides of the aisle in DC. |

BTW, when is the Congress going to pass a budget for this year ? |
I know you know there is no budget. Now just how is that possible? Allowed?
This very subject portrays the disregard for measuring what they do/don't do. There fore with no measuring stick one just SPENDS. What would happen in American households if today we were advised there was no way of tracking check book balances, but don't worry, just keep spending for what ever you think you need?
Far fetched example? Not one bit. It was openly announced earlier this year and again later this summer, the subject of budgeting will be delayed as it contains so much embarassment (spending) the Dems did not want to deal with it prior to elections. Once again, the me first rule takes precedent over doing the elected job. Throw the bums out. Re-elect no one. (that works for both parties!!!!). btk |

I will not either defend or go after any person as you have obviously set your sights on this young lady in Delaware. HOWEVER, consider that those who may be on the other side are sitting with much information and slander for those on the left that you seem to defend without any thought. I dont think your party wants to get into that kind of mud slinging, especially on a forum such as this (now the mainstream media is a different story), but if you want to engage in that type of thing, please keep it up..it shows where you are coming from. Folks on here DO criticize elected officials and their backgrounds (not sure if they go as far back as high school as you favor) but they at least will intertwine it with POLICY and ISSUES. Yours is just plain personal ! I would also caution you about the generalization you use to throw ALL "tea party" folks into witch craft advocates. You said "They are most assuredly not tea party activists, you know the ones who practiced witchcraft in their earlier lives.[/quote] That same generalization you use could throw all Democrats into a Charlie Rangel. or even post about her opponent who has a few questionable but explainable quotes in his past. |
If i have to choose between the witch and the marxist, I will vote for the witch.

Bucco, you need to develop

Consistently sccoping fplks into buckets to suit their definitions of convenience
to make their polarized point.
The assignation of what they view is so school yard level ranting it is almost funny. There just is not room for an opposition in their way of life. There is no deviation from the party poridge that is doled out each day. Resist....denigrate....down play....redefine....sling mud. Such generalization and rambling is so ineffective...and lame We'll see in November if only 20% show up to take back America. btk |
