Walk On Points

Can someone explain why I am sometimes assigned a point in the tee time system when I do a walk on? Seems to me there shouldn't be any because I neither requested or reserved a tee time. Many times I have played as a walk on and this was recorded in the tee time system but no point was assigned, other times a point has been. So what's the rule on this? This can't possibly be at the discretion of the starter.

Call the tee time office, they are very friendly and will explain this to you. 352-750-4558

Golf Points

If you play late in the day you get 0 points. In the morning or afternoon you get one point. Ask the starters shack what time the zero points goes into effect.

mikreb 06-14-2021 05:49 AM

zero points after 3pm

What's the big deal. points only last one week. Am I correct?

billethkid 06-14-2021 08:15 AM

....playing = one point (except for later in the day rules).

karostay 06-14-2021 08:34 AM

You play you pay 1 point

Thanks for all your explanations, you were all very helpful. I will call the tee time folks to discuss.

Go to a " Good Golf "class, it's free. They will explain all the rules .

Been there done that. Must have missed when they talked about a 3:00 cut off. Curious how I just happen to sign in at 2:59 two times in the last week. It would have been courteous of the starter to tell me that if I waited 10 minutes I would not be charged a point.

Probably had more important things on his/her mind.

Mimivillager 06-14-2021 01:22 PM

Regarding placement points.

I was just reading the system. Where do I fit in as a priority spouse? Am I just considered a resident?

Mortal1 06-14-2021 06:19 PM

Priority doesn't apply

to exec courses.

Mortal1 06-14-2021 06:21 PM

You're playing...not the starter...

it's your responsibility to know the rules and regs. Don't go putting the blame on someone else...that might be just considered childish to some people.

THE CUTOFF TIME IS 4 PM. If you do a reservation and get a 3:59 PM tee time you will get a point. The starter has nothing to do with it. Butttt, they can put it in as "Other course/Time" as 4:08 PM and you won't be assessed a point.

The system through Dec 2021 is after 4 PM. if you take a tee time at 4 PM you will get a play point. This just happened to me, I select afternoon tee times to keep my points down. I play with several groups and points can affect the groups request. I spoke with the tee time office they explained the rule after 4 PM no play point.

I don’t understand why you would be worrying about this? It means nothing. Just go play!

richs631 06-15-2021 07:15 AM

Zero points after 3pm. Anything before that is at the discretion of the starter

Have you read the previous posts ?

It’s not 3 pm , it’s 4 pm …..actually, AFTER 4 pm , as confirmed by someone who actually called the Tee Times Office …..

Villages Kahuna 06-15-2021 07:51 AM

The rules have been the rules for a long time. Call the golf administration office for an explanation.

hal195z 06-15-2021 07:53 AM

Why do you even care about it??? One Point, give me a break. I play an executive course almost every day and don't have a problem.

If the priority membership is for single player....you are a normal resident on execs. If the membership is a family membership for both, you will get exec priority tee assignment in front of normal residents.

tuccillo 06-15-2021 01:49 PM

That is not what The Villages Golf Guide states. From the Golf Guide:

Priority Membership Status is only applicable on the championship courses and has no bearing on the executive courses.

May 1st thru Dec 31st there are no points if you play Golf after 4 o’clock. Walk on or find open T- Times. . You can run a copy of these rules from the Villages Golf site. Many of the starters do not know the correct times. We play after 4 frequently with no points. If you walk on and t-off before 4 o’clock you will get a point

If you play with groups, points will keep your group from getting good tee times or no tee times at all.
