The Flying Biscuit has crashed!
I went with 2 friends for breakfast at The Flying Biscuit in Sumpter Landing on Monday June 21st. Here is the list of problems we encountered:
The Bacon was burnt and greasy worst I ever tasted could not eat it. The over easy eggs were broken and overcooked. One pancake was not brought out with the order and only came after the person was done eating. After I asked for a well toasted English muffin it came barely toasted at all. Then when I showed it to the waitress and she agreed and I asked for another one well toasted after about 10 minutes she brought back another one that again was barely toasted and she said "they said this is the best they can do" This was the worst part and it was not the waitresses fault but the cooks need to go! SAVE YOUR MONEY! The Flying Biscuit has crashed landed! |
I find in most restaurants you think you have control over the cooking, but you get what they bring out. I NEVER ask for it to be taken Back and done over. Remember the song, “ no one knows what goes on behind closed doors” and if you did you wouldn’t be back.

I went there once and didn’t care for their menu.

If you sit outside at breakfast you'll think you're in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
There are a bunch of birds that sit on the umbrellas and roof, waiting for people to leave. When you do they all descend on the table and pick it clean. I felt like Tippi Hedren. |

We eat there every time we're down in TV...
So far, over a dozen times over the last 20 months. Never a bad meal... In fact, it's probably our favorite place for breakfast. Go figure... |
Could be they recently hired inexperienced cooks because (like almost every other business in the country) they don't have enough employees. This post will probably get deleted if I say why that is but we all know the reason ...

We've been there a couple of times and have had very good service, especially from the wait staff. Maybe the cook is new, recently freed up from making solar cells?
|
Went there Saturday with friends, the service and food were great. We’ll continue to go to one of our favorites. Maybe you should just go somewhere else.
|
I’ve been there recently and found it great

Forget that place. TooJays always has great food and great service.
|
Do not send it back ask to speak to management. They will either remove cost from bill or redo meal. If they are redoing leave original meal on table and remove when they return with new meal. Even if they spit in the new meal you know it is only once not twice. Let's face it new hire does not want to work to earn money. Or probably owner does not want to pay and role model for good service. Sad world.

As they say if you want your eggs done a special way do them at home

The Flying Biscuit has Crashed
We have eaten there many times and have had both good food and service. Love their biscuits. Sorry you had a bad experience. Maybe give them another try?
|
This is why I never put cream and sugar in someone else's coffee or cook a steak to order, I never get it right.
Isn't it wonderful they are willing to work? |

If you really think the cook might spike your food why go there in the first place? Duh

Everybody in small business is having a hard time with help.
Hopefully that will change

I've been there a couple of times and both times were great!
|
I had watery eggs and cold toast when I went there - people rave about this place - but then again as far as the villages go I guess I see their point. So disappointed in the food in TV overall.
|
Mixed
We went with anticipations high from reading some reviews, unfortunately we mush have visited on a bad cook day. Sausage was terrible, biscuits not fully cooked and the grits (what I was looking forward to) NOT, better at waffle house. The wife won't give them a second chance.

Same old story. Only comments on a bad experience at a restaurant. How about next week posting one on a restaurant you had a good experience at.
|
I went there about 6 weeks ago and one of the waitress was clearing the table while pushing the cups and dishes into a large container and smashing them as a result. Then moments later started breaking dishes. No worker or manager said a word. Patrons just shook their heads in disbelief. As for the food, I won’t be going back.

No Kathy I don’t know. There are numerous reasons why it’s difficult finding employees right now.

People will not work when they are paid better not to. People's jobs and success at them are based on many things. We are all born valuable but we are not all born equal in abilities and skills. Raising minimum wage raises prices for the entire economy. There are some things that cannot be fixed with National legislation or anything for that matter. Is the OP a disgruntled worker? Is the OP the one who broke the dishes on purpose that I just read on this thread? Can we ever really trust any anonymous post? |
