Bladder dropping

Think my bladder is dropping? What can be done about that? Don't want surgery for it has anyone had any success with a surgery?

Velvet 06-24-2021 07:40 PM

A doctor can measure you for a pessary. A plastic ring you wear internally to keep things in place. My mom wore one for years without ever having problems. She really did not like the idea of surgery either.

My mother had the surgery yrs ago with the net and was so sorry. She was in terrible pain afterwards tk u

My wife had it surgically repaired about 10 years ago and it was an easy recovery and she has had no issues since.

Ask your PCP, your situation is unique to you, and the only sound advice your can get is from your care provider.

Pessary is a simple effective solution. Highly encourage & recommend

If you have medical insurance get a urology appointment for consultation. If no insurance come to TOTV for medical consultation

Depends.

These are anecdotal stories, also used in research. Not advice. What do you suppose people did before there were medical schools? I realize we are much better off today due to current medical practices. I don’t tell my doctor what to do professionally, but in the end it is my body and I have only one.

Dr Weber UF Shands

Office in The Villages. Very good. Also works with Dr Heft.

cronin2 06-26-2021 05:26 AM

Excellent surgeon. She is both a gynecologist snd urologist snd has a 93% success rate in bladder repair.
Good luck!

There's been a lot of issues/massive pain/law suits with bladder mesh surgeries. Before you agree to this type of surgery if it's suggested please do your due diligence. I wish you well.

Think? Have you had a confirmation from a dr yet? I would discuss options with them depending on your age and situation.

SDSKI 06-26-2021 06:14 AM

See a Urologist, preferably UroGyn.

Bridget Staunton 06-26-2021 07:32 AM

Urologist

]Excellent surgeon. The ā€œSheā€ you are referring to is that Dr Weber, please respond & thank you. I will be looking for a Urologist. You can message me at bmstaunton@aol.com

Bridget Staunton 06-26-2021 07:39 AM

Some people don’t like people sharing medical issues. Please don’t read them if you don’t like. Rest if us like the sharing , it’s not advice, it might hit home if you have an issue. We all know The Urologist is the advice we listen too!!! I got the name of a Doctor after reading the post, I thank you

My partner had the mesh surgery a few years ago. She did her research on the procedure, consulted with her primary doc, picked an experienced surgeon with a good track record, and had it done. Respecting the entire recuperative period and following medical advice during that period is very important. She has had excellent results. One of her friends followed the same approach with excellent results. Years before her recent surgery, my partner had pessary surgery. Again, she followed competent medical advice (and didn’t listen to anecdotal stories) and did well … for many years until the need for mesh surgery became obvious. Best of luck to you. We hope it goes well for you. As noted from others, exercise ā€œdue diligenceā€ and listen to the professionals. šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ˜ƒ

I enjoy reading the options that are discussed, we know decisions are based on you & your doctors. At least reading the options you are somewhat prepared on the subject. Thanks everyone

I looked up Dr. Weber. It's Dr. Emily Weber Lebrun, a urogyn from U of FL. She has an office in Summerfield.

SusanKD 06-26-2021 08:12 PM

Why would you not want surgery? It was easy recovery was not bad. Why suffer. I went to by OBGYN.
Why would you want to suffer just get it done you will be much happier.

Lauranne 06-27-2021 12:58 PM
