Plexiglas windshield wipers dirt and dust No Thanks
Looking like a cars headlight in no time

gdennis317 06-29-2021 09:02 AM

Careful, as any sand or dirt will scratch the plexiglass.

philnpat 06-29-2021 09:28 AM

Scratched acrylic windshields make it very difficult to see through especially at night. I'm very careful cleaning mine. After cleaning I spray it with RainX. Works great!

villagetinker 06-29-2021 09:30 AM

This looks like it will interfere with opening the windshield also. I am a fan of rainX also.

I was told to never use Rain X on plastic as will damage it. A friend had a motorcycle with a plexiglas windshield and he told me that the Rain X ruined it.

I love Rain X on my car windshield but I have always been afraid to use it on my golf cart.

KAM+6 06-29-2021 09:46 AM

Rain X comes separate, one for glass and one for acrylic.

UpNorth 06-29-2021 10:53 AM

Novus plastic polish removes those fine scratches from plexiglas windshields. Makes them crystal clear. Windshield wipers on a plexiglas windshield is a bad idea. Rain-X makes the water bead off quickly.

Topspinmo 06-29-2021 03:00 PM

IMO When windshield wet I doubt it going to scratch the plexiglass with little amount of pressure the wiper applies. These kits has been around for while. Basically drill required size hole and assemble it. Nice option especially at night when lights and rain create bad glare if water don’t bead off. I don’t drive my cart at night hardly at all so don’t need. I slow down in rain so I can see better, a new concept down here. :)

Plexus is an excellent product to keep the acrylic windshield crystal clear. It can be purchased on Amazon or locally at the Harley dealership in Leesburg. Easy to apply and wipe off. The acrylic looks clearer than actual glass. It is amazing stuff. When it rains, the rain just slides off. No need for a wiper.

No thank you, bad idea.

noslices1 06-30-2021 05:39 AM

Windshield wipers for golf carts need to be on the permanent non-folding windshields, otherwise they will have a problem when it’s folded down. If the windshield is dirty when it starts to rain, a wiper will push the dirt across the plastic and scratch it, no matter how light the pressure is.

jimkerr 06-30-2021 06:11 AM

That wiper requires you to take a hand off the steering wheel to operate. It’s not a good idea to do that especially in a rain storm.

I’ve been in the rain many times and never had a had a problem seeing out of my windshield.

Like others have said, it’s a bad idea especially if you have a dirty windshield due to scratching.

DON`t do it, any dust or dirt will scratch the plexi glass. Use Rain-x on a regular basis, the rain will sheet off. Great on your car as well.

I'm looking for the guy who installs sunvisors for the windshield. Used to be at LSL market night

RICH1 06-30-2021 06:51 AM

Mount an air curtain above your windshield, using your leaf blower

PaulinTV 06-30-2021 07:51 AM

We've been unable to find the Rain-X for acrylic; do you know where they sell it?

kathyspear 06-30-2021 12:23 PM

Can be ordered online from Amazon or Walmart. Cheaper at Walmart.

Rain X cautions you not to use it on plastic.

You can buy a manual hand windshield wiper for about $13.00 on line, drill one hole and install it yourself. Did this years ago, no big secret

Yes, this is on eBay. The one that the villager installed is a better quality and is sold on eBay for $75. So, the villager is a very good price and he installs it .

I purchased rain x for plexiglass/acrylic on Amazon for about $6.
