Are you interested in the Japan 2020 OLYMPICS?
.
. me, not so much - and I must say...yet. Much of the 'luster' of Olympic games are tarnished, for me. First the 1-year delay in holding the Games due to Covid. Then the decision not to have ANY public attend the Games. Then the issues re some USA athletes and the anthem. Then, in the last couple weeks Covid has arisen in Japan, impacting some athletes. And of course the non-Live issue of holding the Games in Asia. So we'd already know results - such as the Women's soccer team losing 3-0 to Sweden - so....why tune in and watch? With all this NBC must be sweating after their $$$$$ investment. I will probably do 'selective tuning-in'. But I certainly enjoyed Wimbeldon tennis and the golf Open in England, even the Euro soccer championship. time will tell with the Olympics. I've been to Japan 10 times during my business career, and love the country, the people, and their spirit. But they can't catch a break re the Olympics. . . |

I will tape various women's soccer games, the opening and closing ceremonies and some other things. The diving has always been interesting as well as much of the gymnastics.
|
we have little interest in watching the Olympics any more...there was a time that it was a 'must watch' event for us, but not when
there's a total self-centered girl on the US team that dishonors the very country that has given her the opportunity to compete The winter Olympics have more interest for us...especially when there's a bobsled entry from some remote place that never has snow....wife also likes the ice skating |
No until they take the politics out of sports I will not support any of them. If entitled athletes want to disrespect our country then they should not represent the USA. If Network TV want's to cause division in our country then they should not profit from the games or anything else for that matter. Color me jaded.
|
No, lost interest in all sports over the last few years because of politics.
|
I would rather watch grass grow.
|
Nope
|
Nope, not going to watch all the kneelers, trashing America that gave them so much....Just going to find out if the "female" hammer thrower, and the "women's" soccer team, and such are eliminated, and crack open a beer...Hopefully in the future when we have America back, will look forward to the Olympics again...
|
I lost interest in sports when they became political, so no.
If I spend time and money to watch a sport, it is to enjoy the sport, not endure some protest of one ilk or another. |
I have lost interest. Our daughter really used to love watching both winter and summer Olympics, but with no fans allowed, I wonder if it will be as riveting?
Delta Variant makes it dangerous to those not vaccinated. |
We MIGHT watch the opening ceremonies but, in general, we 're going to pass.
I don't want to support networks, sports organizations, sponsors or entitled athletes that participate in disrespecting our country. I can't stand politics as it is. I certainly don't want to see it in sports, award shows, TV shows, movies, music, theatre or anything that is supposed to be entertaining it also doesn't belong in commercials, education, healthcare, restaurants, business, social media or many other things. But this is the society that has been created. |
I lost interest in the Olympics in my mid-twenties.

The political statements are becoming overwhelming. I will choose not to watch!
|
No. Especially the women's soccer. Let them kneel to Sweden. They got their derrieres handed to them.
|
Negative...politics, and refuse to watch any sport, where transgenders are allowed to compete. :ohdear:
|
I am watching to see history in the making as men who used to be women line up in the hundreds to compete with men who have always been men.
|
Yawn. Why bother? Men competing as women, athletes talking smack about the nation they are representing. Its time for this vent to just go away.....
|
What most have already said. I have no interest in supporting a team or person that disrespects our country.
As I heard another place.....go woke; go broke |

Wokeism has ruined it for me.

I concur with many of the comments above, not interested due to the political interjections. I was surprised to see the many comments on this post with the same reaction.
Let's cherish the great memories folks. Your favorite memories? Mine are 1) watching the opening ceremonies when hosted in China, the 1000's + beating the lighted drums 2) Seeing Michael Phelps excel in swimming, still see his great smile as he won the races, |

Bruce Jenner was a patriotic Olympic athlete. Remember the good old days.

I couldn’t disagree with you more - well maybe a little more - not with your opinion. With that I agree 110%. It’s your choice of beverage I disagree with. A beer? That’s the best you can do? Me? I’m going to do a 2 for 1 margarita. í ½í¸‚
Sorry this was in response to reply number 9. |

Not going to let any one or two people drive me away to sit in the corner and pout.
GO KATIE, GO SIMONE, GO USA |
Nope.

I haven't been interested in the Olympics since they turned it into a professional event.
The 1980 US Hockey team was one of the great sports stories of all time. It's unlikely that we'll ever se anything like that again. I can't believe that so many people thought that the Dream Team was such a great event. It was a bunch of the best basketball players in he world beating up on a bunch of kids. As far I'm concerned, the Olympics has been destroyed by money. |

The Anti-American attitude of these spoiled brats in all sports, including professionals that make millions, has discouraged me for watching any sports. On the positive side, I think my wife appreciates me spending time and attention on her.
|
I'm surprised it's going ahead this year, but yes I'll watch some events. I LOVE gymnastics, especially the women's events, rhythmic gymnastics, diving, trampoline, some swimming events, and 100 meter run. Maybe some tennis also, depending on who's playing.

Have a HS friend that has a grandson in the decathlon that has a good chance of gold so I’ll check him out. Garrett Scantling is his name from Jacksonville.

Ok...help me out.... The question was if we'll watch or not, I too tend to not pay attention to Olympic ads, that are constantly on, therefore won't watch much if any. Also, no audience or hoopla...certainly detours watching.....BUT, with all my " ignoring" I don't know what you guys are talking about. Hopefully without getting kicked off this someone can explain. What happened with Sweden soccer game? Who is dissing the US, my guess is the little blonde ? I tend to mute commercials and boring reports and obviously have missed allot. On another note, usually during the Olympics the other stations have a crappy viewing lineup.....hopefully this year they will realize not to go that route and keep us happy. |
