everyone likes a boat tour. Lake Sumter Line has a pontoon tour, but book now-i tried to get in, it's packed until September
|
|
Town Squares for music & people watching.
Eisenhower Grab a couple cigars & go for a cart cruise. |
Go to City Fire outside bar wearing a 'Biden for Four More Years' T shirt for a fun evening!
|
Together, remodel your garage. Epoxy the floor. Add storage organization units, and/or workbench areas with electrical connections. Much more bonding doing this type of work together than leisure activities. My dad is gone now, but some of my best memories are of us working together on various projects at my parent's house or mine. You'll also think of him later when you are using that area and are apart.

Thanks for playing Old People Really Are Dumb |
It wholly depends on where we are at that time as far as Covid is in the state/country. We may have to shut everything down again. Don't be surprised if that happens....NO long range plans for now
|
Cougar hunts are popular
|
Go to the beach. Clearwater on the Gulf or Datona etc on the Ocean. Great day, if you like the beach. Taking him fishing for the day out in the Gulf, if he likes that. You can also show him Eisenhower Rec. Center, if he is into military memorabilia. Life is too short, so enjoy your time with him.

There are over 3000 clubs, figure it out.
|
There is a rodeo east on 466a. You can have a “chuck wagon” type dinner and watch a rodeo. It was fun and educational.

Maybe get the son to read up about all the activities available so he can make an educated plan for himself and his dad. One activity that I think hasn't been mentioned is a pontoon boat tour of the Dora Canal in Leesburg. LOVED that. Also saw people fish there, if they're into that.

Last time our youngest son came down for a visit we experienced a small miracle. We went for a Golf Cart Ride with destination unknown and ended up parking across from The Savannah at that pond on the roundabout. He is a young guy and has been in the Army for 11 or 12 years. He prefers to not speak of his experiences overseas which I respect.
Something about being so relaxed in THE VILLAGES and the beauty of the spot we parked at made him spill his guts. Wow. I just sat and listened in awe about what he had been through since Boot Camp. It was a priceless time that I'll never forget and he said he never felt so good as he did the next day because I listened to him instead of butting in like I do. I even took that statement in stride. So for me, a simple Golf Cart ride and the beauty we were surrounded by and the cleansing talk we had would be the top experience I've had since we found our neighborhood on the Hysterical Side. Thank God Almighty for our home and our family and friends. I feel like I recaptured my relationship with that son that very day. |
grab a couple of beers and have an adult conversation
|
Excellent. Good dad .

Guided kayak ecotour at Lake Griffin State Park. Info and registration at FLGSP.com. all guides are Villages residents and are volunteers.
Also, guided kayak tour of Lake Sumter, offered by The Villages Recreation Dept. 2 hours of info on birds, plants, gators, fish, invasive species, Florida aquifer, true history of Lake Sumter, how Villages retention ponds and wetlands are interconnected to manage water levels. Excellent tour! |
Go to the squares and pick up some chicks 😁
