Wet or dry Daily Sun today, Tuesday 8/3

Double bagging on heavy rain days still soaks my paper. They should tie the plastic bag then. Did you get a wet or dry one today?

Mrprez 08-03-2021 06:11 AM

Mine was completely dry. Double bagged.

Dana1963 08-03-2021 06:47 AM

Call the paper they will deliver a dry one. Delivery person will be docked $5 for your inconvenience

JoelJohnson 08-03-2021 07:27 AM

Too often it gets wet (like today), One time I called because it was unreadable, but they got so many complaints that they ran out of papers! Sometimes I use a hair dryer to dry it up.

Cookieman 08-03-2021 07:34 AM

Wet Newspaper

They should tie the end after double bagging the paper. If you have a driveway that is on an incline the paper has a constant stream of water running over it. They would be much better off throwing the paper in the grass on rainy days.

Let's let Marlon Brando voice his opinion on this topic in arguably one of the greatest scenes from one of the greatest movies ever made (IMO) :D :

Double bagged and dry

villagetinker 08-03-2021 08:13 AM

Double bagged, wet, sitting on several chair backs to dry out so i can read later today.

champion6 08-03-2021 08:25 AM

Double bagged, about 25% of every section wet.

Velvet 08-03-2021 09:05 AM

My paper used to get wet a tiny bit sometimes even double bagged but still readable. But there is a person who takes a walk around the streets as exercise every morning, who throws the paper to the front of the door every morning. So all I have to do is reach out and pick it up. I don’t even know who this person is but I can’t wait to thank them.

woolman44 08-03-2021 09:15 AM

Wet paper

Double bagged, 100% wet.
Drying out will read later....

I hope that is not so that they dock the delivery person $5.00 for a wet paper. If, that is true, I have no idea why anyone would do that job.

Bobcuse 08-03-2021 09:23 AM

If you live in Summerchase Villas it's usually Jeff (sometimes Howard). Great guys.

davem4616 08-03-2021 09:29 AM

More to come.

Velvet 08-03-2021 12:24 PM

I wonder if it would be possible to throw the paper instead of the middle of driveway to under the front porch? It would be protected more from the rain. Perhaps it would be too difficult so as not to hit the doorway. May take too much effort too.

You're kidding, right? These guys drive the streets at mach 2. It's a miracle they're able to keep it in the driveway. It's a lot farther shot to get it all the way up to the front door.

JerryLBell 08-03-2021 03:34 PM

Mine was double-bagged and about half soaked. Oh well. It's not like there's any real news in the paper anyway. It just made it hard to read the comics. As far as having the bag tied, I'm sure that would add a ton of work for whoever bags them (or double bags them) and would most often not even be needed. What we got this morning was unusually heavy. We measured a full inch of rain between 6 AM and 7 AM. This deluge ran down the driveway where the nicely bagged paper was and liked to drown the poor thing.

JMintzer 08-03-2021 04:02 PM

Double bagged and soaked...

raynan 08-03-2021 05:35 PM

Double bagged and soaked, draped over chairs til dry.

tsmall22204 08-04-2021 04:56 AM

Mine was dry. Do you know how many papers the delivery person delivers? You are lucky to get double bag and still get the paper as early as you do.

Not fair to dock the delivery person. They double bag and have no way to control where/how your paper lands. With the hundreds of papers they deliver, it would take more time in the morning to secure the ends of the paper. Quit complaining for a minor inconvenience.

Thats nice. Someone getting docked $5. because you are inconvenienced. When I say YOU, Im not referring just to you, Im including those who expect everything in life to be perfect with no bumps. How difficult is it to dry it out instead of blaming the delivery worker. Thats pretty lousy
P.S. if you want a perfect paper everyday, wait at the door and immediately walk out n get it. Oh wait! Who would want to be “inconvenienced” and get up that early.

I have been here for 11 years and in all that time, I have only received one wet paper. Called the office and the new one was delivered within an hour.

banjobob 08-04-2021 06:30 AM

Mine are always dry even on heavy rain days

forebubba 08-04-2021 06:47 AM

The Daily Fun ....my day is ruined because the paper is wet and I can read it. What is the world coming to? What am going to do?

MPhoto 08-04-2021 07:02 AM

Maybe I’ve just been lucky but I’ve never received a wet paper. I think the Daily Sun delivery does a great job!

HoosierPa 08-04-2021 07:54 AM

Mine was dry and double bagged / not tied. Such major problems we deal with

What time do you go out and get your paper?? Can’t expect dry paper if you let it sit out all morning. Double bag only protects so long.

TandHSTAR@AOL.com 08-04-2021 12:22 PM

wet newspaper

Wow, so important that you have to have a dry paper. Nice to have so little to worry about. Mine is dry 99.9% of the time and even when it is a little wet, time will dry it out. I guess my life is full of too many other problems. Need to rethink my life.

Yes, my paper was wet but this is the first time in a very long time that it was wet. I agree to tie a knot in it may help a lot. In CA, they would normally try to throw the paper up on the front porch but that too would slow them down. As long as it's not every day, I can live with it since the service is very good 99.9% of the time.

If they can do that, the Marlins need to sign him

Velvet 08-04-2021 04:35 PM

There are different ways to deliver the paper, like walking… but that would cost us more and I don’t know how many would be willing to pay for it.

JohnN 08-04-2021 05:59 PM

Mine was dry. Then again I get out there early and don't let it sit in the rain.
If a wet paper on occasion is a big problem, then you don't have any problems.

DRY...
My paper delivery person is a very good meteorologist. When The paper is double bagged I can count on it raining. My paper is usually in the driveway by 3 am. Wasn't raining this morning at that time. I like to get up early and read it with my cereal and juice.
:welcome::ho:

DaleDivine 08-04-2021 09:33 PM

I don't see why all the complainers about wet papers don't just stop having it delivered and go to a postal station and get their friggin paper. Probably would still complain about something.
