My wife knows better than to take me shopping for anything other than food or something we are ready to buy.

davem4616 08-07-2021 10:25 AM

totally agree

Toymeister 08-07-2021 10:29 AM

I go buying, my wife goes shopping. Two totally different activities.

So very true. She goes for something and gets distracted by 16 other things in dept store.

While "shopping" if you truly want my honest opinion, probably best not to ask.

fdpaq0580 08-07-2021 11:07 AM

Simple.

Men are hunters. We seek it out, we bag it, we drag it home.
Women are gatherers. They go out with the intent to see what they can find, bring back everything that strikes their fancy.
Admittedly this is an old stereotype that goes back a long time when men were the bread winners and women took a more domestic role. Still, sometimes, it seems that some of those traits seem ingrained somewhere deep in our genetic makeup.

Oh for the good old days when we went hunting found the woman we wanted, hit her over the head and dragged her home.

Reverse for us, hubby is an inveterate shopper. Especially for groceries. He goes in for milk and comes back with 5 full bags of stuff.

tsmall22204 08-08-2021 05:25 AM

So whats the problem?

Luggage 08-08-2021 05:56 AM

What really gets me, is seeing young couples on so-called dates at the restaurant with both of them on their phones. I have actually nicely berated couples and youngsters by saying how pretty their dates are why don't you actually talk to them! They left and put down their phones for at least 5 minutes

Zenmama18 08-08-2021 06:09 AM

I have one of those too!

La lamy 08-08-2021 06:23 AM

I'm definitely not in the norm since it's my boyfriend who loves to shop and has WAY more things and clothes than me. I wouldn't be out on those chairs waiting, I'd never go!

DylanTodd 08-08-2021 07:36 AM

'Guys shopping' I saw the title and instantly thought, well that's an oxymoron

I Pray to God my wife doesn’t read this Post to this level!!! Lol!

Hahaha. My dad used to be a stickler for taking the shortest route. But then he never wore a Fitbit.

I used to work at a medical facility which strongly encouraged us to do what ever it takes to get more steps in. Park further away, take the stairs, etc.

butlerism 08-08-2021 08:57 AM

by the hair?

DonH57 08-08-2021 09:06 AM

Tell her, " text me when you're done I'll be across the street at the bar. " She'll have to drive home!

barbnick 08-08-2021 09:23 AM

As it should be!

Men Shopping

Kuddos for sticking with the post. Not one negative comment! :bigbow:

DaleDivine 08-08-2021 10:33 AM

My wife has never been a shopper. She always said I don't need anything.
Now after getting age related macular degeneration she can't see how to shop.

Not to be too picky, but the man's pattern isn't very efficient either. Should just go up one aisle, over and down the other aisle.

Barborv 08-13-2021 03:26 PM

Thats because women look for the best price and look for what they will need in future if at the right price! Men will pick up the item, not concerning themselves with a better price! And won't use coupons!! LOL

Me too. It's all that BOGO stuff. Hits you as soon as you walk in the store.
