We are going to be dealing with this nasty bug for the rest of our lives. Right now it seems that our kids, grandkids and great grandkids will be as well.

Why aren't we mad at China? Does anyone really believe COVID didn't originate from China? Does anyone really believe China isn't covering up? They still haven't found the animal host so does anyone really believe COVID isn't man made?

This COVID thing is tearing our nation apart. Meanwhile, China continues to profit economically from this world wide pandemic. Why are we putting up with this? Let's start with boycotting the Beijing Olympics. Let's demand remunerations for the families that have lost loved ones and for all that have suffered due to China's negligence.

For many centuries, smallpox devastated mankind. In modern times we do not have to worry about it thanks to the remarkable work of Edward Jenner and later developments from his endeavors. With the rapid pace of vaccine development in recent decades, the historic origins of immunization are often forgotten.

Really? The swamp and big pharma make millions off of us peons. The corrupt royalty in this country only care about enriching themselves. That's why.

In time we will find out who lit the match and we'll rightly criticize those who initially claimed the smoke was just dust.

We know it started the virus in China, at a lab, but China owns us. So they won't investigate themselves.

Let’s remember the Great Influenza of 1918 that killed about 50 million people worldwide started in the Midwest. It spread quickly to other countries due to poor decisions by the military in WWI, misinformation by the press, political corruption and President Wilson’s poor judgement. That being said a full investigation of Covid 19 origins is warranted.

I just read that a report is due out on this subject TODAY. I doubt anyone will believe it. No one believes anything from hardly anybody ANYMORE.

Maybe our gov does not push hard on the origin of the virus because the answer to that question might be TOO CLOSE TO HOME. It would not surprise me to find out that it originally was produced at Ft.Detrick, MD like the weaponized Anthrax. Just a thought, with absolutely no evidence to support it. However, when you have our folks funding research on the virus in China, it makes one wonder.
We will never know the origin of the current Covid virus. That is probably one of the very few secrets that won't be leaked.

Our free press. For us to get TRUE information from China we need spies. For China to get information from the United States, they just need to pay subscriptions to our publications and a few folks reading the internet.

It is true we live in interesting times. What we forget or are blind to there have always been and always will be problems. History, the pioneers to this country killed more Indians with diseases brought from Europe than with bullets. They did not know about germs but they knew if they use the blanket from a sick person and gave it to someone else they would get sick. The pioneers deliberately gave infected blankets to the Indians.

I find history interesting. All history is taught with a bias. WWII all Americans know we dropped the atomic bomb on Japan. How many Americans are aware Japan had a huge germ warfare program and they used it on China and on POWs. Or that Japan before the US entered the war conquered Nan King in China and killed more civilians than died due to BOTH atomic bombs.

As far as people and not believing. That too has existed throughout history. I recently read a book about the Wright brothers. Reminder the first powered flight was 1903. Many of their original letters still exist. They published that reporters feed on each others misinformation and they do not understand the science. Flight was a worldwide endeavor. In other letters the Wright brothers complained about national bias from other countries. NOTHING IS NEW,

The BIG difference is, the diseases you mention were natural.

There seems to be overwhelming evidence that COVID 19 is man made. A Chinese virologist that defected makes that claim and also claims China went to great lengths to cover it up. Plus there's research that contends the sequence of the genetic make of the virus has never been found in nature. A top Chinese spy master recently also defected and supposedly confirms the man made origin. That's just hear say at the moment as no info has officially been release relative to what he's divulging.

I think the escape from the lab was through negligence and not intentional. You have to wonder, however, why China locked down the citizens of Wuhan for travel inside China yet let them travel internationally.

I'll be skeptical of the deep state report unless it references information from the Chinese virologist and the Chinese spy master that also defected. I fear the report will be politically motivated rather than a true investigative document. Hope I'm wrong.

By the way, China doesn't give a rat's a$$ about its citizens. Just ask the Uyghurs.....

Gracie, you are being very naive in thinking that a government wouldn't do something dangerous that might cause illness or death in their population. Many governments have experimented with various chemical and biological warfare weapons in the past and chemical weapons (mustard gas) were used in WWI. During the Cold War nearly all countries were working on biological weapons around the clock.
Totalitarian governments like in China have no respect or concern for their population. China has re-education camps for dissidents and they also make people disappear never to be seen or head from again. Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia slaughtered millions of their own people. I don't trust our government any more than the others I have mentioned.

People are still ethical. No matter what their ethnicities or national origin. MOST people would not endanger their loved ones on purpose for any reason.. That is not science, nor is it politics, it is built into us. It is innate. It is genetic.

My wife stopped shopping at Walmart because of so many Chinese products there. Of course, Target, Home Depot, and all others have large stocks of non-American-made goods. And if the US COULD (?) organize a boycott (aka tea party) for all Chinese made goods, would US citizens be willing to pay the higher costs of the American made products - most senior citizens would be hurt the greatest with the higher prices because they are more likely to be on a fixed income.

Being the world's top 2 economies while still being each other's top trading partners is going to create huge nightmares of competition vs cooperation. Diplomats must keep up a difficult juggling act - miss a juggle move and WAR results. The Olympics was designed to bring counties together, so that alone has both upside and downside. The best strategy for the US would be to keep itself strong and NOT allow itself to fall apart internally! If we can't cooperate to fight a VIRUS, how can we successfully fight a HUGE Dictatorship?

Looks like North Korea and Eritrea are the only totalitarian countries in the world in 2021. China does have some checks-and-balances and the Olympics being there in 2022 create more of these. They will try to put on a good face to the world.

I believe that the Chinese are trying to get at the facts as best they can about the origin of COVID-19 because of all the attention brought on by the 2022 Olympics.

Now why would big business support that? There ones making billions and don’t even have produce it. We allowed it , condoned it and encouraged it. Well, we the peon’s didn’t, it took our jobs, made the middle class , lower class and the poor out in the street to become beggars. Don’t blame Walmart, target, or any other big business they only play by someone’s else’s rules. The blame IMO is our own federal government legislators who allowed it, condoned it, AND got paid from it.

I disagree, most people live shelter life and really don’t know what’s really going on IMO of course.

I’m not sure about this “dude” way of addressing someone. I’ve heard teenagers or long hair boys going around saying, “hey dude” while glassy eyed and showing little respect. We will see. It is very hard IMHO to really get straight answers in a situation like COVID 19's origins.

And I have often wondered whether overpopulation (like in China) leads to a lower quality of life and therefore lower-valued life - can said overpopulation INCREASE the propensity for dictatorship in that country? Africa has high concentrations of population and many dictators. Japan before WW2 had a concentrated population and what could be called a military dictatorship. Hitler wanted more "living space". Joseph Stalin did NOT value life very highly even though The Soviet Union was sparsely populated in its eastern section. Not sure if this idea is true in all cases? Maybe, some TV Landers have a better knowledge of this possibility than I do?

The US had policies in its history that decimated its inhabitants as have pretty much any other country. Many of these were due to rampant nationalism and racism.

I know that. I also know that generally medical scientists are more ethical than the average person and that most of us would not do anything like this for any reason. I know some would. I know all that. It is not an either or opinion.

I have no problem either with "rampant nationalism" and I am a big fan of patriotic people. All these things come from realizing that we need to use common sense, take care of our own, save our money, don't break the rules we were taught as children and don't eat the bovine excrement dished out to us.

I am anxious to see what this report says. I don't like the decisions from The WHITE HOUSE lately on anything. Folks do seem to ignore the information passed to them and that is whether they are R's or D's. Anyone can act like a dummy and we are seeing examples everywhere we look.

Well, there's this:
- China initially denied human to human transmission
- 12/19 to 2/20 prevented sharing of any COVID info it had found
- Didn't report the outbreak to the WHO as required
- Silenced medical workers sending the alarm accusing them of lying and upsetting the social order
- Arrested journalists reporting on the virus. Some reporters simply disappeared never to be heard from again.
- Crucial records from the WIV were destroyed.
- Limited information to outside sources researching the virus
- Delayed the WHO investigation by over a year. Only allowed limited access to witnesses and documents. Wouldn't allow certain investigators to be part of the team.
- Refused the WHO's request for a second investigation
- Accused the US military of bringing the virus to China

Other than that, I guess you can say they're trying to get at the facts as best they can.......

CV May (?) be man-made or may have jumped from one animal (mammal ) to a human mammal. I don't either know or care very much. It is here! That being said.......it is well known that here in the US CV has jumped from humans to dogs and cats in limited cases, but NATURALLY. Logically, if the disease can go that direction naturally, why wouldn't it be able to go in the reverse direction into humans from animals?

Also, the atomic bomb. Several scientists worried that the atomic bomb would light up the whole world's atmosphere and radiation would kill all people. Their advice was not taken, but it was not a sure thing that they were wrong. We took a chance then.
