MTM Show…one of the best ever.

I met him once when he came to my college for some kind of symposium on El Salvador. He was a leftie but the old school kind who was intelligent and reasonable. Unfortunately, they are a dying breed, literally. RIP, Lou Grant (and also his late career turn as Santa Claus in the wonderful, new-age, Christmas classic, "Elf")

loved his character 50 years ago. His extreme politics, however, turned me off

Just think. One less vote for a Socialist Government. He was funny but he had to hate the America we lived in. Shame on him and all the Socialists in Hollywood.

I really like the way he played the Lou Grant role, but the Christmas flick he was in called "The Gathering" I always thought was his best performance

I didn't agree with his off stage views.....RIP

And he was one of the rally leaders to free Philadelphia cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal from death row.

I never knew about his off-stage antics. Good thing I only admire a person like him for his way of amusing me.
