sounds like it's time to spray a little "Pam" on the car's front grille and the front edge of the hood (but place some newspapers underneath first or you garage floor will be quite slippery)

I've actually been seeing them for about a week now. But, the Spring "invasion" was pretty mediocre.

Love Bugs

Thankful for the little bugs
I too just saw my first lovebugs of the season a couple of days ago and it reminded me…
Last December I was hospitalized with Covid-19 for eight days. I was admitted on December 19th and got out on the 27th. I almost did not make it out. On my second lonely night at the hospital (no visitors allowed), I began thinking that I may never see my three kids again, or my grandson, or my granddaughter (who was on her way, born April of this year), or the rest of my family and friends. I also thought about all the other things I may never see or experience again. I thought about the things I usually don’t care for, like meeting with my accountant in March, going to the dentist, and yes, washing lovebugs from my car. I made it my goal to be alive until at least September 2021 so that I could do all three (I forgot at the time that lovebugs would also be here in May). I am happy to report that I am currently alive and well, I filed my taxes in April, had my teeth cleaned in May, and I drive extra carefully nowadays to make sure that I don’t harm those beautiful little lovebugs. I will be here for my grandson’s 17th birthday (tomorrow) and will soon be holding my precious five-month-old granddaughter (who was born on my birthday!). I realize the lovebugs will soon be gone, but May is just around the corner. Stay healthy and safe. |
Ohiobuckeye
Oh man, that’s one thing I don’t Miss especially when you have to constantly swat them away when you’re trying to make a golf shot. Also they make a mess on the front of our cars!

Love is in the air!

Mays invasion was not that bad. Havent seen one yet
My guess is the esteemed and benevolent developer..all praises and blessings be upon them...have found a way to get rid of them. They ruin two months of selling houses. |
A "Pam" in time save 9 paint jobs.

Actually they are late. Usually here for the whole month but I’ve only seen 3 “couples” this month. Guessing it’s going to be very light this year. 🥳

Ha, I read this post earlier today and thought...hmmm, I haven't seen any LB's yet. after lunch I went out in the yard and WOW, they're back !!!!
|
not at all its September ..
|
Guess I thought they came out in October.
|
Whenever they come out… in my opinion, it is always too soon.

Having experienced a few hatches in the times we rented, not looking forward to that part of moving permanently to TV. Oh well, at least it isn't locusts or fish falling from the sky. LOL

Dear Polirudb, Your ability to share your appreciation of life has made my day. Thanks for sharing!
|
Polirudb, you give a different perspective. Thank you. I never thought I could look at a fly and be thankful.
|
It is my understanding that they are an aphrodisiac.

I ate at least one or maybe two if they were doing their thang when I stepped out of the garage tonight. I look at them the same way you do, gratefully. It's been a rough couple of years but we're still here. :coolsmiley: |
September is Love bug season, and October is Snow Bird season.... it's a revolving cycle.
