They were trying to protect four month old immunocompromised child! Are you kidding me????? What the heck is going on in Texas????

They took the immune compromised child to the restaurant? Or they just didn’t want to catch Covid. Then why would they go to a place where you have to take your mask off to eat?

We, including me, are in a state of confusion. No matter what your OPINION is we find others to agree as well as others to disagree.
We've taken two Physer vaccines. Last week I asked my doctor if we should take a third. He is not allowed or does not want to take the time to say DUH I DON'T KNOW. I assume all will get the same information. A trip to the grocery store where we are forced to get our drugs. They are pretty good. I just find it weird to get drugs there. We were told they cannot give your the third shot they will get instructions early Oct. My point the people in medicine do not know what to do. Imagine a restaurant.

What is your source for this tale of woe? Why would a parent bring their child who is immune comprised to a place where it could pick up the flu, a common cold or some other disease besides Covid?

Yes, it did happen - they made a big scene. Now, their lawyer is claiming discrimination, that the staff made racial comments toward them.

Yep, I got it, they THINK a mask will protect them from getting COVID and therefore keep the kid safe.

Also according to that report, the discrimination was against disabilities - they have a child who is at high risk if they contract COVID-19 and they were doing their job as parents to protect themselves from the virus while out, so they wouldn't catch the illness and pass it down to their disabled child at home.

I get that people want to have "no masks required" but to say "no masks allowed" is - well not surprising actually. It's Texas, afterall. "My body my choice" only applies if you want to restrict everyone else's rights.

Good question. We took the Sumter Landing Boat tour last month and a visiting couple with a child took the tour wearing masks and the asked the guide if he was vaccinated and wanted him and everyone else to keep their distance since the child was not vaccinated. I thought the same thing as you. Why on earth would you get on a boat where you are going to be elbow to elbow with others if you are worried about covid transmission.

Wearing an athletic cup will keep you just as safe from Covid as will wearing a (non-N95) mask.

Maybe restaurants should inform patrons that their retaurant is a mask only, or mask free restaurant. Give them a PERSONAL CHOICE before entering.

As for their race, no one said what their race is, but if they're black, well, BLM is considering protests against a NYC restaurant that turned away black customers who weren't vaccinated. So we have a scenario of "when racially-motivated grievances collide".

The restaurant owner said it was his place's dress code that masks are not allowed in his business. CNN interviewed him or someone did and put it on CNN.

It had nothing to do with the couple's race nor perceived disability. The owner knew nothing about their kid at home.

If there was a no mask sign then you don’t go to that restaurant expecting to be allowed to wear a mask unless you can’t read then you have to be confronted. There is a pawn/ gun store right here in Wildwood that does not allow masks

Still doesn't explain how these idiots thought that by wearing a mask in a restaurant they were protecting their kid. We've debunked that type of thinking thousands of times over the last 18 months, so either they deserve the Darwin award as previously mentioned, or perhaps they had another agenda, as someone else posted.

What they needed to find was a restaurant where EVERYONE ELSE was wearing a mask. Or better yet, as the parents of an immunocompromised 4 month old, COOK AT HOME!

Exactly! But ours has become a country of whining and sniveling babies who run to CNN and/or lawyers at the very first hint of something not going the way they want it to. Backbones, morals, character, common sense...all down the toilet.

We can wear all the protective clothing and breathing apparatus we want and nothing is 100%. One of the doctors in Jasper Indiana who works with the Covid patients contracted the disease. He wore all the protective gear you could wear. A mask at best is 50-50 if someone breathe or sneeze on you you’re done for. Wearing a mask is some protection but unless you’re wearing a respirator mask it’s a 50-50 proposition. The parents probably were doing the best they could to protect themselves an the child. In society today we tend to be critical of others instead of understanding others. I feel our country now has turned the corner of no return. You either for or against there is no neutral there is no understanding, love or forgiveness.
