Help Updating Trust and Will
Hi, We recently move to TV from Oregon. We have a Trust & Will in place, but now need to update them for Florida law. Can anyone make a recommendation of an "economical" way to do this?

Online software works if you don’t have complicated ones. Look at legal zoom or nolo

Trotter and Soulsby have updated mine several times over 12 years. They are located in the Lange Building near 466 and 301, behind CVS. 352-205-7245
Very nice. |
We liked working with Katherine Lynn (352) 633-1263
Her office is at 561 Fieldcrest Dr |
We used Amy Pittman, very pleased.

As a heads up: When anticipated estate taxes become law (shudder) many of us will need to address another update, likely an expensive do-over. Oh well... |
Your documents should be ok but best to have an attorney review at some point. In Fl the administrator/Executor of the will can not be a Felon and must be a blood relative if they do not live in Fl. Your spouses blood relative may not work for you. Not sure. Also make sure your will is self proving.
|
Self proving means the witnesses don't have to be found to verify your signatures. Best to pay a professional like Trotter or Pittman and get your wishes right. Probate can take time and be expensive, IE a trust.

Several people advertise on here as well. My advice, spend as much money as possible first in this life and don't worry too much about the wills. Try to give a lot of way to your children and grandchildren now so they can enjoy the money while you're living and you can see the results. Too often we don't understand that outward appearances do not always tell the true story. If you have grandchild and great-grandchildren set up some trust for their education now, if you have kids that can't afford a house. Tell them you'll help him out. Well you get my drift, it's a lot better and a lot more fun now to enjoy giving the money away than after you're dead

get an attorney located outside of the villages.....Much cheaper and do the exact same job. But, you must update to Florida law. You do not want problems when the time comes. No do-it-yourself documents for this very important matter.

Pittman Law firm is exceptional estate planning. It is worth a few bucks to do it right. A trust will negate the need for probate. You leave her with a huge binder that helps keep all your records straight. If you have property in other states you will need a lawyer from that state to help you. She is the best.

We just went through the exercise of setting up a trust, POA for health care and financial, and redoing wills. Sham Shanawany was great to work with and reasonably priced.

Then an attorney is your answer since you seem to want to argue with other suggestions.

Trust and will update
We recently moved from Michigan and we’re advised to update due to different laws - went to Kathryn Lynn on 466 behind the shell gas station - she will update only that portions that are effected.

My wife and I used Kathryn Baranski at Bogins, Munn and were quite satisfied.

Great Attorney
We have used Lawrence Adashek in Maryland and Florida and like him very much.
Phone 410-415-5880 Welcome to The Villages. He lives in both places too. |
We use Dean & Dean. Very pleased with the work.

Updating Will and Trust
Sham Shanawany 352-205-4995
Very reasonable and great follow through They are located on Highway 441 We came from Illinois and he reviewed ours and updated to Florida law. We also had it redone and updated recently |
If you are going to have the documents reviewed I would try and get a word copy from the original attorney so the documents do not have to be retyped.

Use Trotter&Soulsby in Lange Building off 466. Forget either of the Millhorn offices.
