Survivor's 41st Season.

Survivor (American TV series - Wikipedia)

I used to watch this show every week but now only catch maybe 20 minutes of it here and there when flipping channels.

PennBF 11-05-2021 07:17 AM

Agree

It was a good series until now. It has changed it's profile and now more of a social statement rather than a "Survivor" show. :ohdear:

JMintzer 11-05-2021 07:29 AM

I can't believe that show has "survived" this long...

Bay Kid 11-05-2021 07:55 AM

I watched all over the years, yeah I need a life. Watched the 1st show this year and it is totally different. Scary looking people. Done.

MrFlorida 11-05-2021 08:14 AM

After the first few years, it got boring. I'm surprised it stayed on for so long.

Caymus 11-05-2021 08:26 AM

I watched all of the first year and most of the second. Did they switch to multiple "seasons" per year to get to 41?

41st season? I had no idea this series started in 1980.

They do 2 "seasons" per year...

BigSteph 11-05-2021 09:48 PM

I watched, and liked it, the first 3 or 4 seasons. Then, as most things, it became formulaic.

I've never been a CEO, or a C..anything and maybe there is a reason. I just don't have the personality. My parents raised me in a manner that I never took pleasure in 'screwing over' another person. I've never sold used cars, or ever posed as a Nigerian Prince.

In the world of sheep and wolves, I have either been a sheep dog or cheered for them. So many of these shows celebrate the worst in us.

When I was younger, I was so excited when a fourth TV station arrived in my home town. It was a Fox station showing old Star Trek episodes. I remember loving television back then -- so many comedies and dramas. I now have hundreds of channels and there is hardly anything I want to watch -- the least of which is reality shows.

To me all these shows are equivalent to restaurants. After a while they start to lose their luster and even if they do come up with a new menu you get bore always eating at the same place.

The series started on May 31, 2000. We've recorded all the shows and played them back via DVR, so we can fast forward thru all the BS. The show has never been great but this latest edition is awful, it has become too "woke."

Try Acorn TV

We watch a lot of Acorn TV. It’s about $6 a month but so worth it. Great series. Clean shows. No commercials. Mostly Australian and British TV. Doc Martin, Poldark, A Place to Call Home, Republic of Doyle, Murdoch Murder Mysteries, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mystery. And lots more. Good stuff.

Survivor jumped the shark a long time ago....

gwenhwalker@yahoo.com 11-06-2021 07:58 AM

Just like Big Brother this last time

OrangeBlossomBaby 11-06-2021 08:25 AM

Too "woke?" It's about racism? I don't know what y'all put in your gin and tonics but - the cast of Survivor reflects actual reality outside your tiki huts.

That's why so many millions of people watch it every season (I've seen all but 1 season). At least now I know why the minority cluster doesn't watch it. Jeez.

DaleDivine 11-06-2021 09:28 AM

If it's not on the GOLF channel, I don't watch it...

I enjoy watching survivor but Big Brother is much better.

I have seen more of that than Survivor of late.

One of the couples from The Amazing Race lives in the Villages, or, at least, they did as of a few years ago.

the best way to get cbs and other sites to provide entertainment not based on political or any other influence is to stop viewing them. I've seen many stories of declining audiences, hence loss of advertising revenue, .
The loss of revenue is what they pay attention to. Their systems analystics and algorithms show them if you are fast forwarding, pausing etc.
You are the voter.
The remote control is the booth.
Watch past tv series via streaming.
Boston tea party anyone?

Agreed! Pretty sure it’s all staged more and more and they ran out of normal people to cast after 41 seasons in 24 years and their agenda now is to be provocative with abnormal humans but all the reality shows do this to us! Can’t Unsee our Television industry hot mess!

I agree! My viewership of reality shows consisted of a single Survivor episode toward the beginning, then it was done. Throw in a Bachelor/Bachelorette, and that was it for me and "reality" shows.
