I am getting rid of Comcast tv and phone. I'm keeping internet. They want $100. for internet, 300 speed. Is this a good price?

Where do I return the tv components? I don't have a car so what would be my options?

Call comcast, you may be able to drop off at the xfinity store corner of Rolling acres and 441, maybe a friend can drive you there, and I think comcast has a way to return equipment via UPS, but call comcast first before doing this.

Drop off at the Starbucks on rolling acres road or mail it back. Tell comcast you will switch to Spectrum unless they reduce internet price.

They may have cared in the past but not anymore! I had asked for cancellation for a date 3 weeks away believing they’d call back to see why or if they could make me a better offer. Within 3 hours they had cut me off. Then I had to listen to my wife complain that we had no TV or Internet.

If you have a golf cart you can park in the Target/Petco parking lot on Rolling Acres and 441, then walk across Rolling Acres Rd. to the Comcast store. Also make sure you get a receipt, Comcast loves to send people bills for unreturned items that were returned. DON'T MAIL IT!

$100 dollars for internet is a rip off. Cancel everything and change the account name to get a better deal.

Maybe you can see if T-Mobile Internet would work at your address. They furnish modem for $60 per month for 100 mbs and was supposed to stay at that price.

I’m paying 1/2 that for xfinity 400Mb for a 1 year special, then I’ll work something out with somebody after that. I wish they offered fiber here in the new section

Yes it is. We just went through this. My wife wants to see the news live on the tv. I called Sunday and they got me connected with an upgraded plan; 600 bps internet and 200 plus channels for $160 a month. Still a tad cheaper than Hulu live and YouTube tv streaming service. Service is great. No equipment, it is all done through their app so there are no rental fees. My neighbor has Century link @ 100 bps and YouTube tv for about $120 per month. (Only has one tv and a computer). Century Link has sold much of their asssets to Lumen technologies and that may get them in the game after the deal is finished next year. However, for now Comcast really has this area locked up.

Actually, CenturyLink changed their name to Lumen Technologies. They still use the "CenturyLink" brand name for some of their business.

Verizon home internet with cell phone contract $50 a month. I stream Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon prime and You Tube TV. Buffering sometimes with live sports, no question it is a pain.

I have Comcast (and have for many years), never had a problem (internet only 100MBP).

That’s pretty much their standard non-negotiable price for Internet.

2nd the recommendation for Quantum (CenturyLink) fiber. $65/month for 1GB speed, price is locked in as long as I stay with them. They provide the modem, and all taxes and fees are already included in the price.

Not sure where you're getting Hulu Live for $60... Base price is $65 - once you add in taxes and fees, it's a little over $70/month. If you want to skip commercials for DVR'ed programs, it's another $10/month.

YouTube TV is a better choice. $65/month (+Taxes and fees), the DVR is far superior to Hulu's, and commercial skip is included at no extra charge. If you're a T-Mobile cell customer, you can get $10/month off of YouTube TV as long as you're with T-Mobile, bringing it down to $55/month. That's $20 less per month than Hulu when comparing apples to apples (commercial skipping on both).

Be aware that T-Mobile doesn't guarantee 100mbs. and you'd be lucky to get that speed even periodically. Because it's a cell tower the speeds fluctuate greatly and cells phones have priority over internet. The gateway has to receive the signal from a tower so moving it around to every window in your house is necessary to find the best signal. Another downside is that it has a tendency to randomly disconnect and needs to be rebooted. BUT, if it works for you then it's awesome even with the extra effort.

Last year my Comcast was about $170/mo. I went on seasonal this summer, it was about $50/mo. no internet, My Maine home when I go on seasonal and come back to TV is about$70/mo, that's with internet which you need to keep if you have ring camera's or a nest thermostat. I do have a question though. I have bought a new router to replace the Comcast router which I have been renting at$14/mo. When I disconnect their's and replace it with the new one, is there anything else I have to do, or will it automatically connect to my TV's, computer, cell phones?

No, the price is not locked. It can go up. CenturyLink is still honoring the “one price for life” lower bandwidth services (I know as I have it) but under the new Quantum brand name with higher bandwidths it appears they aren’t offering “one price for life” anymore.

All the cable companies suck and either lie or do not know their own products. I had comcast, cancelled, went to spectrum and got a 30 day money back guarantee. They really sucked and went back to comcast. Got a deal with them for being a new client that they would not give me as a continuing customer. Terrible way to treat people. Have internet only, no phone or tv. Takes some getting used to but glad not to be paying for all the dribble they show and slanted news.

Unless you play games, 100Mbps should be fine. I have that and it costs $40/Mo. with a $10/Mo. discount for the 1st year, making the price $30/Mo.

Cable internet is similar to a water pipeline. The more taps on the line the less the water (data) flow. Fiber connections are are more direct. However some (AT&T) seem to restrict data speeds at times. I have had all types of services. Currently I have Google fiber (NC) and they are by far the best 1gig for $80/mo. The other services(cable & AT&T) have reduced rates trying to compete. As far a service I have never had better service. I even received a rebate on my bill for down time which I did not even know occurred. Never had that happen with cable. Had to argue for 6 months for a refund with prior cable service. Google recently added 2gig service in my area.

Well I didn't have any luck reducing the price today, but I will try later. Taking everything to the UPS package store for return. Thank you for todays help.

The problem I have with affinity and spectrum you usually get a 1 year promotional price then it goes up. Then you have to do the dog and pony show tha your cancelling or change the service to new customer .
My internet provider here in Rochester NY which I have had over 3 years 500mps up and down the price has stayed the same $50.00 per month. I think century link does the same thing. My cell phone plan stays the same unless we change the plan. Its ridiculous that you constantly call xfinity or spectrum every year. Maybe they have less turn over on customers if they had a fair constant price long term. Doesn't anyone in their corporate office think that it doesn't cost them money having turnover.

$100 @ Mo is ridiculuos. Quite certain their "Basic Internet" (60 Mb speed) is $55 here. If they are quoting $100, ask about "Basic" plan.

What you need to buy is a Modem (and a Router if you do not have a separate one already) to replace their Combination Modem/Router device.
Then You need to have the new Modem "Provisioned".
That means having it's identity added to their database as an authorized recipient.
This can often be done via internet (cell phone to comcast/"activate" ) or you can call them.
Google for all this info.

XFinity doesn’t provide content…..just channels.

I had Spectrum & paid $170.00 after 8 yrs. for cable & Wifi. I’m doing 100% better now but unfortunately we moved out of TV. I’ve got to admit it, I miss TV, for a few reason. All cable companies are about the same. Your cable & Wifi bill will go up a little every yr.
