Recreation Physical Fitness Centers
If we sign up at one, will we have access to all the centers?
Also, is one center better than the rest? thank you. |

There are 6 fitness centers, they all have the same basic equipment, and a membership will allow you to use any of them.
|
Access to all, same equipment in all of them, they all seem about the same. Sometimes the people using the facility make the difference. Visit a few and see what works for you.

We enjoy varying the fitness center location from time to time. There is a tiny bit of difference in the equipment available. All the basics are in all the fitness rooms, though. Because of the geography of the Villages, there should be about three convenient locations for you no matter where you live in TV. Weight training is super important for our health, too.

Largest
We were told by the staff that Ezel is the largest fitness center built, and obviously the newest, since it just opened last week. All centers have similar equipment, with a few exceptions. What I like about the fitness centers is that they are close by, and never crowded. I have been to Rohan and Ezel, and the most people in there have been 6 people, and by their standards considered a “crowd”. LOL

If you have UHC, they offer free membership at MPV. At least before Covid it was free. Call your medical insurance supplement and ask

$$$
EXPENSIVE much less equipment compared to planet fitness or that 24hr on 44
|
Ezell and Rohan are similar. Fenney is their little brother. None are very robust. I go to Planet Fitness in Leesburg. PF is very large and open. Able to use the machines without being to close to others. Very clean. Only ten minutes more in terms of drive time. No charge as my Medicare covers it. MVP is too expensive and does not accept my out of state Medical coverage even though I have Silver Sneakers included.

You could just give one of the centers and get your answers!

The best one
The best one will be the one with the least amount of persons in the facility when you are there.
Best to do some homework on this one. I did and decided to go to an outside the “bubble gym”. Much more equipment and never a wait to use a piece of equipment. |

The free gym from insurer is great for people and for gyms, but I have found that places become very crowded when a gym starts accepting the policy. I stopped going to MVP when they started taking silver sneakers , to many people that would only show up once in a while and then camp on machines or benches and socialize , it’s there right but it makes workouts longer , same thing happened in the place on 301 many regulars left including me because of accepting the insurance policy . Don’t get me wrong I think those programs are great and some people become lifelong exercisers but many just like anything that’s free waste there time and others . I didn’t whine or complain when these changers happened I just moved on
