Best places to fish that are accessible by Golf cart?

I read the information here;
The Villages Best Fishin' Holes | Inside The Bubble

but wanted to currently ask if anyone has a 'hotspot' to recommend for someone throwing a pole and lures in a golf cart and heading out to fish in the Villages.

The best fishing spot to fish in TV, and I tell you this under a threat of death for divulging it, is at the far end or the pond at B...Ahhhh......................................... ..................

Let this be a warning to those that are tempted to give away the locations of the secret fishing holes!

Any pond accessible by golf car that’s not on golf course and definitely not the lake at Sumter Landing. All fishing by is catch and release.

Or where you have to cross private property.

There is an article in todays Daily Sun stating that this is not the time to fish the ponds as they are not biting and won't be until spawning season arrives. Look it up. There is a lot of good fishing just outside The Villages when the time to catch them is here.

That is funny right there. The paper says the fish won’t bite so don’t bother. If the paper said the earth was flat would you be cautious to make sure you didn’t fall off? Wet a hook and let the fish decide if they want to bite. Maybe he will catch one of the armored catfish.

I have fished several ponds here and have caught fish every time. The pond at Bailey trail and Buena vista is a good spot and the one in Spanish Springs where Paige place bridge is. Pulled a few catfish out from under that bridge. You better know how to take a catfish off the hook if you catch one.

Fishing season stops in UK when fish start spawning, to give stock chance to recover and multiply.

I have a vision of a Daily Sun reporter at a pond trying to get the scoop on when the fish are about to have “Sexy time”:bigbow:

I usually just hop in the cart and hit as many ponds as possible. It’s either hit or miss. Good ponds on O’Dell and Bailey.

Go to the Villages Freshwater Fishing Club page and look under Bank Fishing. The ponds open for fishing are listed there.

Good luck

I guess those bluegill I caught at Miona yesterday didn't read the article.

Fishing - A jerk on one end of the line waiting for a jerk on the other end! ;o)
been there, done that!

Randyj66 12-04-2021 08:55 AM

Fishing is like trying to talk to an intelligent person on a website, most of the time you go home empty handed!

I’d rather be the jerk sitting outside with my dog, breathing fresh air, and fishing, than the one sitting at the City Fire bar breathing smoke (and possibly Covid vapor droplets) with strangers while getting plastered.

Good idea, with nothing to do down here, waste your time fishing in a polluted pond trying to catch a fish that isn't hungry. I'm in.

You played catch and release with a bluegill? They were saving them for grandkids.

If I had to wager I would bet that the skeptical people who say” why go fishing “ have never had a live fish in their hot little hand.
