House Cleaning
Can anyone recommend a house cleaning service or person that's honest, reliable, and cleans well?
I am new in the Villages. Looking for help every other week. |

Great cleaning team!
We used Christine and Sean Gerard. Watch out! Came and did a deep clean and paid them almost $200, then only came twice for regular cleaning then demanded a 33% increase in price for no good reason! And that was after they didn’t come twice—once sick and once car broke down! This was all within one month! Stay away! They are just trying to take your money!

House cleaning is vastly over rated.

I have used "Tina's Cleaning and Decluttering Service" for the past year and a half and am very satisfied. I also find the price to be quite reasonable. I have here come in once a month (I am single). Her number is 206-992-4092.

My brother in law recently gave his wife a house cleaning service as a Christmas present. I politely listened to my sister prattle on about how thoughtful she found her husband’s gift, and politely kept my private thoughts on the subject to myself.
I recognize that many seniors are incapable of doing their own house cleaning and have no other choice. But I wonder why people in general put locks on their doors and then invite complete strangers into their home unsupervised to “clean.” They really don’t know the cleaners from Adam. In this instance my brother in law responded to a business card left in his door. I understand that you can put your jewelry away, as well as any personal papers that might later be used to compromise your personal identity, but the concept seems contrary to basic common sense. I know that you can also later check your windows to be sure they weren’t left “unlocked.” We are all products of our personal life’s experience. I’ve heard Villages tell me they never lock their door because if someone wants to get in, they will find a way. I certainly don’t want to make it easier! I know and accept that I’m at times cynical but I’m also curious if anyone else has considered and dismissed the thought of a cleaning service because it might compromise their security/privacy? |
Watch Out!
Watch out! Christine and Sean Girard came and did a deep clean and paid them almost $200, then only came twice for regular cleaning then demanded a 33% increase in price for no good reason! And that was after they didn’t come twice—once sick and once car broke down! Stay away! They are just trying to take your money!
