I'm sure people at the time thought Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Galileo, Nikola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, etc., etc., etc., were all crazy weirdos. Elon Musk is the genius of our time and there are some people who aren't intelligent enough to see that.

You might consider how many well paying jobs have been created due to his forward thinking.

I thought at one time he was a bit of jerk after seeing him in an interview I gained a lot of respect for him. He is a true genius, works between 90 an 100 hours a week and sometimes sleeps on his factory floor. He is not driven by money but rather trying to improve humanity. He doesn’t care what anybody thinks about him, doesn’t try to blow smoke up you know what, he is not political and says what he thinks and if you don’t like his opinion on something he feels that’s your problem not his. To me this is refreshing. Reminds me of someone else.

Musk is a brilliant man. We need more people like him.

I personally don't like his politics, but he has created about 56,000 jobs. Then there's all the supporting jobs. Would you rather they were all on welfare? I'll take him over a lot of politicians.

Musk is the greatest innovator of our time! The only thing Elon is guilty of is optimistic time lines. You need to do more research.

It's obvious that a lot of the hate and vitriol toward Musk, is in large part driven by those who have lost a whole lot of money shorting his stocks. The ultimate irony being, that to cover the shorts when the margin is called, more stocks have to be purchased therefore driving the stock prices up even more - increasing losses. As noted below, when just purchasing a stock the most you can lose is the price paid for the stock. When shorting, you can lose a whole lot more than just the original opening position/cost of the stock(s). THAT can leave a large mark.

For someone that has autism, I would say that he has accomplished quite a bit. Some people hate anyone that is not politically aligned with them.
