The executive golf courses in The Villages will be staffed on Christmas to provide a safe and enjoyable golfing experience. Starters and ambassadors will be on site to assist Villagers and their guests with their golfing needs.

Only starters will be present to assist in orderly starts and assure 1 golfer is a villager. No ambassadors. No rentals or sales of any kind.

The reservation system shows no open tee times. Does that mean we can just show up and see the starter to play? First Christmas in the Villages!

Priority gets me great rates, don’t need the free for all on Christmas. So enjoy everyone who tries to play

So we need not reinvent the wheel here is last year's free golf discussion. Same as the year before and the year before and the year before. It is an attempt to deflect the course carnage dissertations but my intuition says no. Christmas? - it's groundhog day.

Excellent, however the carnage is REAL and began with the first group out this AM. I sat on my lanai and watched for a while as "golfers" (and I use that term loosely) took divot after deeper divot but had an allergy to the sand bottle, tramped through the bunkers with a rake allergy, drove their carts within a foot of the greens, and didn't have a clue what a ball mark was much less how to repair it. Yes, you're right---it's the same as last year, and the year before, etc. Free golf on Christmas??? Personally, based on 8 years of watching the destruction, I would charge DOUBLE today!

Like I've never seen

The Morse's gave them
A day of free play
Too bad the destruction
Has ended this way

Although last year not many golfers took advantage of the freebies because it was so cold.

That’s what I was wondering in my above post?!?!

I love when there is always someone bitching about something, no matter what, it’s not always about you. One day a year that grandparents get to show their family The Villages, share a round of golf with them, and not hurting their pocketbook. The divots will get sanded in this week, the ball marks will be raised up ( I always fix 2 or 3 to my 1) If most of us did that, we could help in letting the greens repair faster. Try chilling out, stop trying to undo America’s Friendliest Town. We have enough Negative Nellies here already, be part of the solution.. I'm continually amazed at the number of people here in TV that are miserable but choose to stay. Oops wrong thread or is it ?
