Moving

I have some friends that are interesting in moving to TV, what should I tell them?

Jayhawk 12-30-2021 09:25 PM

Seriously?

JMintzer 12-30-2021 09:45 PM

Visit first. The longer the better...

Talk to everyone you meet. Most are happy to share their experiences...

Northwoods 12-30-2021 10:08 PM

First... GO PACK!!!! Woo hoo!!
Second - tell them it's an amazing place... just ignore all the "haters"
If they're from WI... tell them to sell the snowblower and roof rake. (yes, we had a roof rake).

Tell them to subscribe to this site -- TOTV, and to read everything!

Garywt 12-31-2021 01:02 AM

Invite them down and show them around, introduce them to your sales agent. We stayed with friends 5-6 weeks over a number of years before buying.

Rwirish 12-31-2021 05:51 AM

It has gotten too big, stay home.

Clickbait. Come on man

mrf0151 12-31-2021 05:54 AM

Tell them to wait till all the baby boomers have moved in. That should be about 15 years from now and then the prices will be lower.

tsmall22204 12-31-2021 05:56 AM

If you live here and do not know the answer to your question, please get out more.

SeaCros 12-31-2021 06:14 AM

Seeing is believing. You can tell them all you want and then they can make their decisions. There is good and bad to be told about anywhere and TVLG is no different.

vinricci 12-31-2021 06:17 AM

Look around first. Don't it always seem to go. That you don't know what you've got, Till it's gone, They paved paradise, And put up a parking lot. 2005 was a much nicer time to have moved here. IMHO.

You’re Elite

Act like Your Rich, and that no one is better than You! And that only the PAUPERS live outside Our gates! Only Those wanting a “Status Symbol” live in “The Villages” We’re just a mini Hilton Head

bowlingal 12-31-2021 06:31 AM

Michael...do you live here? Tell your friends your experiences. You should know your friends and their likes/dislikes better than anyone on this site

Grab your ankles!!

CCristella 12-31-2021 06:53 AM

If you live here and don’t know what to tell them , you should move out!

Linda2323 12-31-2021 06:57 AM

Tell them to do a lfe style visit, get with a sales rep to look at homes and enjoy their stay. We did that found a house and we are moving in February. Love the villages.

Really?

Tell them that as of today this is still a free country and they can do what they want.

I’ve lived here 12 years and I have run into a few people that match your description but for the most part we are just a population of people who have worked hard and raised our families and would like to enjoy the relatively few years we have left. If you’ve encountered those that have the attitude you describe let me apologize for them and hope you don’t run in to any more. If you do just know they were that way before they moved here and the change of location didn’t change them.

jimkerr 12-31-2021 07:35 AM

Tell them to make sure they pick the correct loofa color or they might have unwanted friends!

Move here!

Jawskid6044 12-31-2021 07:44 AM

Go to the villages.com. Look at the lifestyle section. Have them come for a lifestyle vacation. That’s what many people do.

merrymini 12-31-2021 07:47 AM

I guess you should be someplace else. Send a postcard when you get there.

merrymini 12-31-2021 07:49 AM

Rent before buying.

Sage advice...

rockyhyder 12-31-2021 08:15 AM

Buy them the Inside the Bubble book as a gift. Tell them to rent for six months preferably April -September and figure what type house and area then buy and enjoy!

BlueStarAirlines 12-31-2021 08:28 AM

I'd tell them to go with the fish over the chicken. Last time I had it the chicken was a little dry....

mabreyjk 12-31-2021 08:30 AM

Moving

Don't let the door hit them in the ass on the way out.

Drop the snow shovel at the NC/SC border.

Bay Kid 12-31-2021 08:31 AM

Tell them to come stay here a while and look, but not in the new areas.

Cliff Fr 12-31-2021 08:36 AM

This is kind of like asking should I buy a Ford or a Chevy? Lol

easydog 12-31-2021 08:40 AM

Tell them that moving to TV offers them an opportunity to set their own agenda with most any activities imaginable. Tell them it is a "lifestyle" change where the areas are beautiful and golf and water and outdoor activities are rampant. A great place to live.

I have noticed some “attitude” here at The Villages as well. But I’m interested in what you mean by “New York and New Jersey attitudes.” Thanks

Tell them to get a house somewhere near the middle of the villages. That would be South of lake Sumter landing. It allows you access to the entire villages

LucyP 12-31-2021 09:21 AM

Download The Village app and search homes. Come down to the Life Style stay. New Home will come with bonds.
Experience all 3 squares. There something fit everyone. I enjoy older section homes and I’m near two squares and shopping.
