Fenney Bobcat or Cougar ?

My trail-cam picked up this video image not 10 minutes ago out here in Fenney. Is it a Bobcat or a Cougar ? Definitely not the usual coyote.

Perhaps somewhere around here a habitat has been disturbed? It looks like a bobcat. Thank you for sharing.

Two Bills 01-13-2022 05:15 AM

Bobcat.

Couldn't make out a tail. I'd say bobcat.

That's a Bobcat.

I punched up the video some in Adobe premiere and you cannot see a tail. The hind quarters of a Bobcat are much different as well.

davem4616 01-13-2022 09:27 AM

I didn't see the long tail ...so my vote is bobcat too

tophcfa 01-13-2022 09:52 AM

Bobcat

ElDiabloJoe 01-13-2022 10:41 AM

Depends on height - if you can tell from the angle/position of the cam. If the animal appears to be about the size of beagle or spaniel, then bobcat. If the animal appears to be bigger, about the size of a retriever, then mountain lion (or puma or cougar depending on where you are from).

vintageogauge 01-13-2022 01:43 PM

It's nice to see wildlife like that in the area.

triflex 01-13-2022 07:43 PM

After comparing to other Bobcat videos on YouTube I am almost certain it is a Bobcat.

ROCKMUP 01-13-2022 07:57 PM

thevillages2013 01-14-2022 05:51 AM

I have no idea, but I'm sure there's a joke about a cougar looking for young meat out of this...

Close your eyes and imagin the year 2014 south of 44/ this newly developed area of the Villages was farmland and woods. Fast forward to 2022 so many animals have been misplaced by development in the area, circle of life just watch them roam and hopefully leave you alone, someday they will hopefully find a new area to live. :welcome:

100% bobcat. After seeing them all my life, many within a few feet. His size tells me he isn't one I'd want to mess with.

GOLFER54 01-14-2022 07:48 AM

I believe it’s a rhinoceros

Hilarious but from my experience that kind of stuff will get you banned. Liberals have no sense of humor.

Didn't see any sign of a tail so I say Bobcat

lennythenet 01-14-2022 09:35 AM

Looked like a stubby tail. Bobcat is my vote.

Just a guess because you can barely make it out, it looks like a Bobcat because you can barely make out a stubby tail. Coyotes don’t have a stocky body. But you’re definitely right it is some kind of animal.

100% bobcat. A cougar is about 3 times the size of a bobcat and is know for its big tail. Bobcats have a little stub or "bob" hence the name for a tail, which you can see in the video

And all this time, I thought it was just a nickname for "Robert" Cat... Go figure... :icon_wink:
