Golf Cart Turn Signals

Hi - we just bought a new Yamaha and looking to get turn signals installed. Is there a place or person we can get to with the golf cart or one that comes to the house to install? TYIA

The sellers around here sell golf carts termed villages ready. Turn signals, mirrors, an enclosure and a drive system that will do 20 mph are all included and of course charged for.

It's a NEW Yamaha and doesn't have turn signals?????? Odd, to say the least.

Google "home golf cart repair for The Villages Florida" and you'll get some answers and all you have to do is read the reviews.

Are you looking for self canceling turn signals? Ours were installed by The Villages Golf Cars when we purchased our cart from them in 2016. They function just like turn signals on motor vehicles.

Your left arm will do in a pinch

It will do better than a pinch. I never trust a turn signal, but would be much more inclined to trust a manual arm signal. It’s much harder to forget to pull your arm back into the cart after making the turn.

I purchased a new golf cart from Village Power Equipment in Webster. I asked for a self canceling turn signal. They said Yamaha doesn’t offer that as an option, and if you have it installed as an after market item you warranty will be voided. I’m guessing when Villages golf cart installs them they are warranting your cart not Yamaha. If you have differing information on the the subject please advise.

I'm pretty sure the big two, The Villages Golf Car, and Carts and Clubs pretty much get basic Yamaha carts and add most of the accessories in house. Their carts have a Yamaha warranty so I don't know why the seller in Webster would say that.

There are several options for adding turn signals, several websites offer kits that have the necessary wiring, turn signal switch, etc. If you go this route you need to make sure the kit is compatible with your existing lights (incandescent or LED), also, the self-canceling are great. While I would normally offer to do this, I recently injured my shoulder, and it is very difficult for me to work on the golf carts now. I can tell you how to do if you want a DIY project. The other option will be one of the mobile golf cart repair services.

Yeah that was a close call around two weeks ago, when I was behind a guy who had his hand out, bent up (indicating a right turn).

I moved to get around him on the left since he was slowing down near the corner.

Turns out he was just waving to someone he knew walking her dog on the other side of the road.

I don't trust hand signals, and the only turn signals of other people I trust are the ones that they engage while I'm already behind them. If I come up on someone with their turn signal already on, I assume they aren't attentive enough to turn them off and have already made their turn.

Golf Cart Garage comes to your house

I purchased two golf carts from TV - both had turn signals and one had self-cancelling.

I use Mobile Golf Cart Garage 352-299-3270 for at home service. I do not know if they do turn signals but worth a call. I use them for the yearly service and beats TV garage's prices plus comes to the house. I called for my yearly service and he was booking about a week out.

Yep - 2022 New - since there are no golf carts to be had in TV, went to Alabama where they had some new arrivals. No wait. Cars that come in have mirrors, basket, golf cart holder straps. The place added a windshield. All for under $10k. When we bought our house back in October, we ordered a cart from Ocala and we probably still have another 3 month wait, at least. It might be 2023 before I get that 2022.

My information, is life information. Get it is writing. In business that does not matter who or what.

bilcon 01-23-2022 12:28 PM

Where did you buy a new Yamaha without turn signals? It must have been a really stripped down model for golf courses. You get what you pay for. You can call Todd Casey and I am sure he will put them in for you at your house. I have been using him for years. 352-465-3934.

LOL- Has everything else - it's a beauty - Jasper Metallic! As the folks mentioned above, that's how Yamaha delivers all new carts (no signals, windshield, sunbrella).

Fredman 01-24-2022 07:53 AM

If you don’t buy the cart from them you can’t get an appointment

That’s what Melody told me, after all it was another option to add money to the invoice. I’ll be taking delivery by the end of February and revisit the question again.
