Jets over TV

Does anyone know about the jet that flew over TV this morning and 5 minutes ago (4:00p)? Did a big circle with a steep ascent and a barrel roll? Was pretty impressive

New Englander 02-12-2022 04:58 PM

It looked like a Russian Mig.

Gpsma 02-12-2022 07:04 PM

Probably ready to target neighbors who plant flowers on others property, dog poop, those with lawn ornaments, neighbors who sit on chairs in the street smoking cigarettes, and other nefarious conduct.

Those busy budy trolls in the red golf carts are powerful.

It was a sterling performance, and as luck would have it,
I happened to be in a position
to view the great barrel roll. :coolsmiley:

I swim laps in the sports pools for about 1:25 six days a week and back stroke is my primary stroke. When you spend that amount of time staring at the sky through polarized goggles, you would be amazed at the amount of stuff you see flying through the sky. Yes, I saw that maneuver today, way cool!

Probably the Annual Love Field [97FL] Fly-In at Love's Landing in Weirsdale.
Love Field [97FL] is exactly 3.3 nautical miles NE of Spanish Springs Town Square.
3,700 ft. grass runway.
Should be flying around on Sunday too.
Got invited one year.

Skip

PS: The other Love Field [DAL] is in Dallas, Texas.
7,752 & 8,800 ft. concrete runways.
Home of Southwest Airlines.

I wish it had been me. Long ago and far away; it's window or aisle now.

We saw the Aero Vodochody L-39 from Mallory Country Club while dining on the patio. The pilot appeared to circle at low altitude, then climb and perform two aileron rolls before departing from our view.

Looked like a blue angel plane practicing for air show but I think it is in Tampa so not really sure. Was very impressive esp for a retired AF vet who’s base had F4’s

Doubt you'll see jets taking off from grass runways. :plane:

Why not? Jets taking off from grass runways is not unusual.

The military often fly over the Villages, practicing stunts for performances or just practicing. You will see at times, a beautiful missing man, formation in honor of a prior pilot. And during the summer around Jul 4th, they take the old old old biplanes out for practicing for a show... sit back and enjoy the view. Great taken... along with the hot air balloons..

I missed it but then again TV is a very big place now. Not sure how many miles it is from North to far South of the TV. Anyone know for sure?

Are you speaking from knowledge? I would think that any Jet Plane that is doing barrel rolls would shy away from grass runways due to the potential for Foreign Object Damage (FOD). The jet engines are subject to damage from ingestion of objects from sand, stones, animals etc. Safety and costs of repairs from FOD are major issues.

Yup.
21.5 miles long N-S.
9.5 miles wide E-W at the widest point.
As the crow flies.
