I went on the web NYT.com and then Disney for Boomers and pulled it up. Essay pretty much sums it up, the good and the ugly.

An interesting but biased article. Pretty gentle for the Times, in my opinion.

Their ratings algorithms can pinpoint when historical viewers tuned out even to the moment a sentence was uttered that offended the viewer. Sort of like the audience walking out of a speech or movie
that hurts them with their advertising revenue streams and will hasten correction in the viewing market.

All the woke media can be defeated by injuring their bottom lines by tuning out .

Pfft, indeed. A wolf in sheeps clothing article that manages to mention every cherry-picked fault, negative stereotype, and even gives a nod to the other hit piece movie about TV, while they try to “white shame” the community about being out of touch with reality.

I thought it was an excellent portrayal of TV as it is NOW. It was very different 20 yrs ago.

A more subtle than usual hit piece for NYT, but still a hit piece. Cherry picked data and insulted us on many levels. They seem to be obsessed with TV.
Remember NYT was one of two Producers of that movie about TV. Since when does a “newspaper” put up money to produce a movie.?

As usual he goes to the bar scene and implies that is TV life. Maybe it is for some, but not for me or anyone I know.

The article is 90% political with Villages stereotypes sprinkled in. It is exactly how a liberal, pompous New Yorker would view The Villages.

I thought it was a well written, balanced article. if anything, I think it went too soft on the right wing die hards and wished they'd interviewed more Democrats. I'm amazed at the people here who brag about not reading anything but what they agree with. that's why the country is so divided....people's inability to find any kind of common ground because of confirmational bias.

The entire paper is all opinion and bias. Just like most media these days. Both sides.

One of the most balanced articles I've seen in a while noting both the good and bad. Other recent pieces/films were pure hit jobs.
