Because homes in the southern section have appreciated so quickly that owners are taking huge profits and re-buying in the newest villages in the south. I know several who are doing exactly that.

PugMom 03-10-2022 09:27 AM

agreed. people near us moved for various reasons, 1 wanted a fenced in area for the dog to play, the other needed more space than a patio villa

Post is coming from an article. 3 posts since 2014, do you really travel to the south to worry about where others are happy living?

You noticed that too.

This from a developer of a competing community perhaps?

Maybe, because they are now a year old and can be flipped for a very very large profit.

Too far away from what. They are building retail on that side plus the bridge is right there. Over the bridge and you can get to anywhere in the Villages. Restaurants, shopping of all kinds, plenty of gas stations and on and on.

Some probably bought too quick or took what they could get and now have been looking around. We looked for 5 years and then selected the house and area we wanted. It was a little different 3 years ago and the prices were lower.

Generally people get use to highway noise and don’t notice it after awhile. I have lived about a 100 yards from a highway for 26 years and wouldn’t even know it was there.

Mrprez 03-10-2022 08:29 PM

I don’t know why you people who don’t even live down here are so concerned.

North, South, East or West we are all one big happy family. People from the north cross the bridges, eat, swim, listen to music, go to open houses and more.

Not entirely. Folks are making huge profits selling in the South. Same reason I sold my three in the North when we bought in new areas and sold, profits paid for the 4th.

Not to mention the "Poo Poo Plant" oder on a steamy day in TV at the turn pike rest stop area out at Hawkins but as long as wind is right you'll be fine.

As long as you love the view of an RV garage out you screened enclosure you will love the Developer Representative that grants approval for one 10 ft from your designer home like in DeLuna on Corder Run. Hey it might be a year before your neighbor puts it up but if your buddies you just might get to store some stuff in it!

Make sure when shopping for your designer home you imagine TWO VIEWS. One with a 14' block building 10' away and one without an RV garage. If there is more than for instance, 22' feet of space, it could happen (5' setback for each property and 12' for building).

Show me anyplace else selling +100 new homes per month within days of coming on market, often with multiple backup offers.

~25% of those buyers have no problem selling their existing Villages home in days.

It's the Lifestyle baby...

Isn't that kinda' like telling people who can't afford higher gas prices to "just buy a Tesla"?

Not everyone can just pick up and move...

Unsupported speculation at its best. Why feel the need to do that?

Lifestyle is great. Personally do not feel we need to be so far down south away from the things we like further north.

Complaining about things they cannot change? Probably so...

Complaining about things that CAN be changed? Go for it...
