Delays in delivering carts from Carts and Clubs in Ocala

Last October 15 we ordered a Yamaha cart from Carts and Clubs in Ocala. We are still waiting for it. Delay they say is now for a part for the self canceling turn signals

Is this the new normal?

asianthree 03-15-2022 11:57 PM

6 to 8 months for a new build has been the norm for awhile. Good news is selling a used cart is quick and $$$$

Yes, and it could get worse with the latest China mainland lockdown, as their sinovac vaccine isn't very effective, and lockdowns are only temporary measures, and BA.2 omicron is spreading and killing pervasively in Hong Kong, though limited data from the mainland.

Chinese lockdown means a supply chain disruption in the near future again, and may be worse with their particular strains and medical system.

Such a shame we don't make anything in this country anymore. They own us.

Keefelane66 03-16-2022 08:48 AM

Actually you can have the accessories installed after you have received golf cart you may even find that paying attention when driving and turn off directional manually you may not need it.

I have a family member that got a 21 Yamaha and the self cancelling signal is way too close to the steering wheel and according to the dealer, can't be remediated.

Hopefully not the new norm. If you have not checked this out, but do suggest that you take delivery of the cart and get the turn signals added later. Would hope that dealer could do this.

Moved to TV in January. Visited the local stores and all of them said it would be May (at the earliest) and a cart was $18,500. Called our local store in our home town in Kentucky, they had one one the show room floor for $13,200. I had a trailer so it was easy decision for me but others I heard that shipping is around $1,000. Only issue you may encounter is the local stores wont service them unless you buy from them. It's a rip off what they local stores are charging....

Not sure if that is 'normal', I ordered my Yamaha Golf Cart from The Villages Golf Cars and they have promised to have it delivered in 4 months!

Similarly equipped?

4-6 weeks delivery of mine

I just ordered one this week in the villages golf cart people told me it would be 4 to 6 weeks with no problem. I hope they are right.

Garywt 03-16-2022 10:51 PM

I guess it is like everything else now. So glad that it was not like this 3 years ago. We stopped in 2 store, fell in love with a new build on the showroom floor. Once we had our house and closing date I called and the cart was mine. I picked it up the first day in the new house. I can say the self cancelling directional are great.

Villages Kahuna 03-17-2022 04:43 AM

If the self-cancelling feature is all that is holding up delivery of a new cart, I wouldn’t hesitate an instant in changing my order, eliminating that feature. I’ve been using manual-canceling turn signals for fifteen years and haven’t found them the least bit undesirable.

birdawg 03-17-2022 05:23 AM

The money you save by going with C&C is not worth the cart your going to receive. Kept mine for 2 years then unloaded it. Buy from the villages you will be happier in the long run

I've lived here 8 years, have many friends who purchased carts elsewhere and have it serviced at The Villages Cart shop with no problems. Only caveat is you can't make an appointment unless you purchased from them, but you can do a drive up anytime. Also, there are MANY reputable "come to your house" cart service guys around. So service isn't an issue IMHO.

I have a 2014 Deluxe Yamaha Gas, loaded and I mean loaded for sale, just bought a new one and this one is surplus. 8,500.00 Text 716-378-7878 , located just off Spanish Springs Delmar Gate.

Yamaha & Club Car made in a few hundred miles away Georgia USA. 6 month wait....possible a few parts are from China. Now Villages carts and other nearby dealers selling 100% CHINESE CARTS, all immediately available, in fact the ”stealerships” LOADED with all kinds of Chinese carts. Could it be a much larger $$ margins. Many of them start at 18 thousand WHEW! Just my .02

Agree, my cart has blinking light at eye level. If can’t see that then…..

If I was billionaire I still wouldn’t give 18K for “ gold”cart.

Rodneysblue 03-17-2022 08:54 AM

Nowadays, yes it’s normal.

Rodneysblue 03-17-2022 08:57 AM

I have a great system on my cart. My wife tells me when I forget to turn them off.

Go on YouTube and watch all the videos of people self-importing fully electric Chinese CARS and PICKUP TRUCKS for $2000-$3000 and wonder why the Chinese golf carts sold here cost $18,000.

Luggage 03-17-2022 09:58 AM

Cause they can!

What is different about the carts from Carts and Clubs than at local stores that made you get rid of it?

Don't count on it. Are they offering you compensation, in writing, if it doesn't come in at 4 months? If not, it's worthless.

We ordered around the same time from same place - cart came in early February - after getting in the after-market installation queue they called and said they were waiting for the SC turn signals. Came in after 10 days. Good to go.

We ordered ours 10/4/21 and still don't have it. Every time I call I get a different excuse. I honestly don't think they have enough workers to build the carts in the 4-5 month time frame they promise.

Yeah. We were told we would get our cart in February.

Promises, promisee. Cue Dionne Warwick

I can get the hot tub I want from China for 900 bucks, the problem I have to order 10 minimum.

actually I had problems with the Blinkers, and I have a cart from the villages seemed to be made much better. Could not go along with paying for a service visit 35$ after the first year for warranty work. And at one time had to wait 2weeks for a appointment for service, cart was unusable. If you Buy from the villages they give a loaner. I am waiting 3 months now for a new cart from the Villages well worth the wait

Rejoice. We get our cart tomorrow. Now, guess we need insurance.

That sounds good if you get someone that has the know-how to install them correctly.

How will a person be happier??? We have bought 3 from C&C, all for a cheaper price than from The Villages and all will more equipment. Anytime there is a need for service, a van from C&C comes right to our house.

Waiting for the reason……

Who needs a new cart?
I just did a lithium conversion and a 600amp controller on my old DS.
the thing absolutely rips! A ton of fun.
The controller is totally adjustable and secured with a key or smartphone.

wjones53 03-28-2022 03:15 PM

We ordered our cart from there in mid November and finally got a call Saturday. It’s being delivered Thursday. Yeah!

I'm about to do the same with my 02 DS...did you you go with AC or DC motor?
