Sawgrass

I heard McGrady’s pub may be open. What has anyone heard?

So coming real soon is the best that they can do!

Papa_lecki 03-16-2022 08:48 PM

One of the workers at Ezell, thinks it will open before the rest of sawgrass. Everyone is hired.

Still lots of dirt behind the black plastic. Parking is going to be an issue no matter what. With 300 seating, overflow parking will end up at Rec center

Would have thought the whole area would be open by now but guess building houses gets priority

If you're waiting for your house to be built, methinks that would be a good thing...

Bilyclub 03-17-2022 08:36 AM

Maybe the fancy roof for the dance floor is not in yet.

Or maybe more permitting is required for commercial vs. residential. Besides there are only so many worker bees right now.

Could well be but would think after this amount of time they could answer better than soon.

If I was developer my priority now is building houses since demand is so strong.

Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that the largest restaurant ever built in the Villages features ... Scottish Food????

Guess I can dust off my kilt when we go there.

The pent up demand for Haggis has been addressed! :icon_wink:

They are fully capable of keeping more than “one ball in the air”, as proven in the past.

Menus are only paper, like any restaurant, if it doesn’t sell, a replacement will be soon in the works.
Since the menu isn’t available yet, time will tell just how authentic the food will be. Or just a Scottish name for a common dish. Alcohol will be a hit no matter how it’s printed on the menu.

take the high road. Give it a chance at the gathering

terryf484 03-18-2022 06:29 AM

Walking past the other day and a person involved with Pub said having problems getting enough help.

CosmicTrucker 03-18-2022 07:45 AM

I'm ready to buy my mug. Cheers 🍻🍻🍻

Stu from NYC 03-18-2022 08:12 AM

It will open when it opens. Guess the developer can get enough workers to build houses but for restaurants same problems all the rest of the businesses here have.

I'm from the UK and apart from the well known Haggis (which most Americans would not eat because of the ingredients - virtually all totally unavailable in a standard grocery store) What is Scottish food ??? Would Americans eat or even order Cullen Skink ?? How many Americans have eaten a real Kipper (not the stuff in the tins). I'm guessing that we will get a load of made up stuff like you see in restaurants purporting to be Irish e.g. I saw the other day on Irish night, a Classic Reuben (Jewish) Corned Beef and Cabbage (came from New York - definitely not from Ireland) Shephards Pie (should be made with ground Lamb - there is a clue in the name - can you spot it) p.s. If you make it with ground Beef (a very valid and tasty dish) it's called Cottage Pie. The funniest one though was Irish Nacho's ... very inventive to make a sale !!! I just love this place - provides me with endless things to do and talk about !!

frostola 03-18-2022 09:36 AM

Boston used to have an Irish Mexican bar/restaurant called Jose Mcintyres near Faneuil Hall. You could get a Margarita and a Taco along with your Guinness .

Bilyclub 03-18-2022 09:56 AM

A few thoughts about McGrady's. The developers minion stated that it's going to be like Cheers and he expects the hired help to know the customer's names. Also 300 mugs for 100,000 residents won't cut it, unless the mugs go to the highest bidders.

It’s called anchoring - when the 300 mugs sell out in a month.they make a big deal when they order another 700 mugs.

I am not a fan of Irn-Bru.

Food

I’m not a fan of Scottish foods except for maybe Brunswick stew. I hope they serve Pizza. But hey, beer fills me up too.
