Need new gutters
Getting a new roof today and they have pretty much destroyed the gutters. Roofer said gutter repair not included. Oh well, my mistake for not asking upfront. Soooo now I need to find a good gutter guy. Recommendations please.
|
Wow, sorry I can't help with a recommendation, but thanks for the heads up regarding that scenario!

I agree, they caused the damage , they should cover the cost. Years ago we used Hills and were pleased with the results.
|
The roofer should repair or replace the gutters. I hope you didn't pay him.
If he won't repair the damage, I would file a complaint with the Florida licensing board. Most roofers have a Florida roofing license, and they don't want you to complain. Here is the website to look up his license and file a complaint. Licensing Portal - License Search |
A action gutters excellent and reasonable 3524063580

We used Hills on 3 houses. Office staff very polite, and the crew cleaned up everything, payment after we were satisfied.

The kind of roofers I don’t want. IMO they was in too big of hurry to do job right? I wonder what other short cuts they done??????

For new gutters, contact Stipes. They are in the area, and are the best. They do most of the gutters around here.

No reputable roofer should have done any damage to your gutters. If they did, that is on them, and I would not let them off the hook. Take lots of pictures. Bring the issue up with the owner of the roofing company, and record your conversation with him/her. Figure on spending around a thousand bucks for whole house gutters. If the roofer won't pay, or at least deduct the cost from your bill, file an action in small claims court.
For new gutters, make one call...Stipes Gutters. Good luck. |
We're in new Village of Cason Hammock and had Larry's Gutters do ours last week. Very professional and on time, happy with the price. He's doing many homes here.

They should not have destroyed the gutters, don't let them off the hook.

What roofing company?

Another vote for Hills
|
When my roof as well as my neighbors was done, the company took the gutters off first and put them to the side to be put on at the end of the job. Your roofer saying gutters aren’t included is reason enough to call his company or whoever and file a complaint and get restitution.

The roofing company is absolutely liable for any damages to your home. They MUST carry insurance to keep their State roofing license valid. Don't pay until they fix/replace.

If they broke a window, or knocked a light off of the side of the house, would you let them off?
That is unacceptable! Please tell us who this is, so they can be avoided! Hope you didn't pay them yet/stop the check! |
I will update about this contractor after I have talked with him. By the way, my ring camera showed a worker beating the gutter until it fell off the house.

Can not give you a recommendation regarding who to use, but do want to point out to you that you or the gutter person should evaluate if all of the gutters need to be replaced.
We live in Hacienda and do get a lot of leaves, acorns, etc in our gutters. About 1/2 of the gutters are not necessary and probably cause too much water to accumulate around certain areas of the house. Have looked at other houses in our neighborhood and they, also, do not need so much guttering. Leaf filters do not work. |

I just had Hiils Seamless Gutters do my gutters on my new house just a few weeks ago and I would recommend them as they did a great job at a very fair price!

2 other ideas/comments:
1. Contractors will "back nail" gutters. Probably why the guy was beating at it to remove it. Make sure all your drip edges are attached correctly and flush to the roof. Ours were a total mess from our roofing contractor, but they were hidden by new gutters. 2. There should have been a building permit for the roof. When I had a problem, I pressed on the County (Sumter) to go after the roofing contractor. I'd suggest Batterbee to take a look your roof. They showed me many issues that I was able to show the building inspector. He made the roofer fix them all before he'd pass it and before I would pay the roofer. |
