The Back Porch Restaurant Mulberry
 

We are up north now. I haven’t read anything about the Back Porch being opened but I thought it was supposed to be open by now. Anybody have any info?

I don't think so. Their website still says coming soon.

I stopped by there yesterday and they are now finishing up last minute details. They had a training session going on with newly hired staff. Looks like they will open up in a week or so.

Where are they going to be?

Nothing is too far if it is golf cart accessible. I can easily make it to Edna’s or Fenney Grill and they are not too far. Just get in your cart and drive.

Hi Bruce, I have been waiting for them to at least post the menu so I can start to make plans. Going to be down for a few days end of April and then not sure when we will be able to return. Take care.

You can find menu online from other locations. Still in inspections, but so far no final inspection for occupancy. So could be a week or more

Did not know they were the same as other locations or if the menu would be the same.

Doesn’t the distance depend upon where you live in The Villages? If it’s too far for you shut up & don’t go, no one will miss you. It’s not all about you!

The Back Porch Mulberry management

The essence of their menu has been on The Villages Gourmet Club website for many months. They predict a March 2022 opening. Villagers in Marion County only have 3 nearby restaurants to choose from. If run correctly, this will be a welome addition to our choices. I for one will patronize it.

I never go to the gourmet club for some reason. I did a search and found 3 different restaurants called the Back Porch all with very different menus.

Thanks, took a look, will have to go when there the last week of April.

Not for us up in the northern section. Peace and quiet up here when the snowbirds are in town too.

And so much in The Villages "might as well be Mars" for we in the north. We need restaurants up here too.

Must all restaurants be in the center of the Villages??

Because otherwise, "most restaurants" are a little far ("might as well be Mars") for "most Villagers". Sorry it is too far for you. Sorry you felt the need to gripe about our at last having one or two restaurants within a 10 minute drive of our house.

Sounds like food trucks are your choice picks for a night out.

You had a Cody's in the same building and not enough people patronized it.
Same thing will unfortunately happen to The Back Porch :ohdear::ohdear:. Hopefully it will be around for a while. They need to open it soon before the seasonal people go back up north.

Codys was mismanaged and dirty. For a newer restaurant they did not take care of it well. We stopped going because it was gross.

I agree. Service was terrible. Cody’s could have easily survived if it was run properly. Our experiences there included food orders not put in, drink orders not put in, and being served our meals after all of our golf group had finished theirs. Then there was the time we looked forward to listening to the music of “He Said, She Said” on the outside patio. Five minutes was all we could take as their were swarms of flies everywhere. Spoke to the manager who didn’t seem to care.

That’s funny. Fenney and Ezell are way too far for me. I live up north in a villa of Mulberry, near the Back Porch restaurant. We can use a real good restaurant here, after disastrous Cody’s

Someone else also wrote it was “dirty and mismanaged.” The last time we went my wife’s order of ribs were ice cold. It was as if they took them out of the refrigerator and popped them on a plate.

Don't know where you got 3 but there IS a Back Porch Pizza Bar coming to Mount Dora (LINK) but it's not connected with the Back Porch Mulberry that we're talking about in The Villages. As long as the names are not exactly the same, the state of Florida allows variations. With a common name like Back Porch, there are probably 100 restaurants in the US that include those words.

We are in a Villa up north as well, an hour 45 minutes to Fenney grill. We love the ride, over the bridges etc. lots of fun. Of course, 5 minutes to The Back Porch will be great as well.

Friends went there the other night and said they were running out of food. That's odd for just opening.
