wow...nice shot.....we used to call them the Bronx Bombers (even though we were not from NY)

I am seeing serious blurring as TOTV site compresses my photos. Sigh. I guess I need to host them off site so they are clear.

It isn't blurry at all on my computer.
What a great shot!
Actually, that close up, it's almost scary looking.

Truly great shot, it does not look harmless, looks like a stinger on the tail

Happydaz 03-30-2022 04:41 AM

Great photo! These animals were flying over dinosaurs millions of years ago. A prehistoric dragonfly was the largest insect ever known. It had a wingspan of over 30 inches and weighed one pound!

Sounds like a Minnesota mosquito.

Called them "Snake Doctors" in the bayous.

Nice, Carolina Saddlebags..

Thank you everyone, I think I am finally learning. Have been trying to catch these in flight for a while now, and they zip around so fast it takes some planning - LOL!

vanjon 03-31-2022 05:26 AM

Thank you for sharing. Great shot and took a lot of patience and planning. Bravo

La lamy 03-31-2022 05:41 AM

WOW, so cool. Great focus, congrats! They are so much bigger here than up north. Had a hard time knowing what they were when I first saw them here.

Jewelz 03-31-2022 06:33 AM

That's what we called them in Kentucky also. Don't know where that name came from.
And when I lived in Louisiana we had some really big ones there. About 6" long.
:shocked::shocked:

Used to catch them all the time in Louisiana. NO stinger but they can bite you. Especially the large ones.
