Ex-New Yorker. In Florida, no emissions test. My car passed 9 years ago. Would it now? If, a collectable, expensive car, different issue. To drive it? It is roughly 24 hour drive to New York. You can easily look up the drive time to anywhere. Both the tolls and gas are way up from 9 years ago. Shared driving with a stranger? What was the name of that horror movie? |
Reliable Carriers will transport it covered trailer or open, your choice.

Just wanted to say hi since we are in Beverly. We either drive down or rent a car if we fly. Cousins of our from Gloucester bought last year in The Villages. Good luck finding someone to get your car back north.

There are any number of car haulers that will pick up at your door and you'll pick up your car at a lot back home, or it will be delivered....just google car transports
my father-in-law had his car hauled up from Ft Lauderdale to Framingham for years don't hang anything in the back seat, and don't put anything in the the back seat that's over the top of the seats....as the truck driver needs to be able to see out the back window when he's backing your car of the rig my father in law always kept the spare tire & jack in the back seat....just in case....that way they didn't have to unload his trunk BTW, as long as you have FL plates on the car you don't have to worry about MA inspection stickers good luck |

I am planning on flying down for a couple weeks early this summer. If it’s a reliable car I would consider driving it back instead of flying. I live in western Mass, so if you or a friend could meet me there to pick it up that would work. PM me if interested.

Actually it's my son's car. He drove it here from Colorado, with his family. He and his family are sailing a boat from Florida to Gloucester where they will be living for the summer. So the car is here and we are looking to get it to Gloucester. I live in Upstate NY, and have used a local (to my place in NY) car transport company to get my car to TV in the winter, and back home in spring. |

I just went thru this. Saw an ad on Facebook. You could probably just mention on Facebook, you're looking for prices. I got a dozen replies the first day. Uncovered, door to door I got anywhere from $650 to $950. covered I got one for $1200. I won't be needing them till this fall. Told them it was from Berwick, Me. to TV. good luck.

There is a car ferry train or auto train that you ride as usual and your car is on another train car at the same time. I have a neighbor that has used it multiple times that can help with details if you want to reply to me. It has been awesome for them.

I stopped driving car to Boston about 10 years ago when I realized I hardly used it , now I just fly up, walk or Uber if I need it ,but when I did drive I could never understand about using the train , you still had to drive the worst part of the trip,I used to leave around 4 on Saturday morning, stop around rocky mount and had easy ride Sunday arriving in afternoon

Watch out for who you get. We shipped 2 cars across country and they damaged both cars because they don’t care about your car. When they deliver the cars, you have to pay them cash or they keep your cars on the truck and they take off. You pay cash then you have to file a claim with the company you contracted with. I have friends that have had many more issues with shipping their cars. I wouldn’t Ship my cars again, I would drive them.
FYI: the last time I had problems shipping a car my insurance paid for all the damages, over $300. |

We have been using Paul the car guy, a retired police person from the Boston area. He drives our cars to upstate NY and its one price, which includes everything, gas, lodging etc. He is reasonable, and had done an excellent job for us…been using him for quite a few years. (352) 531-6591. Check him out, tell him Bob and Jane gave you the lead… he also goes to the airport and back, nice cars, always on time, etc.

When he arrived I noticed a nice Range Rover being transported as well inside the enclosure. The transporter secured my cart and it made it to its destination without a scratch…..zero damage. I highly recommend them to transport vehicles and golf carts from long distances, especially state to state. The transporter told me that he started his route from Colorado and his next stop after TV was Jacksonville. Contact info: Ship A Car, Inc. 866-821-4555 (main) |

Go to the website, post what you want to ship, from where to where, when you want pick up and delivery, then agree to the price or place for bids. UShip.com will keep your money in escrow until you say that the item was delivered. You can see the contractors, you can see if it is an open or closed truck or trailer and you can see ratings. UShip is the broker, the haulers are drivers/owners. I had great success with them. |
Auto transport
My renter put her car on the train out of Sanford and including herself cost $800. A car was $400 and it leaves in pm and arrives next day for unloading. Not sure if it goes to Boston. It’s a deal especially truck hauler could take a month or more
