driveway widening
I am looking for a company to widen my driveway. I want to add some space to move my golf cart while my car is parked.
I need to ask TV for permission, but what company would you recommend for the job |

As for your question about contractors, this was 4 to 5 years ago, I do not recall the contractors, I was able to piggyback on my neighbors driveway project which ended up saving both of us money, as I recall they were using Next Dimension for a large landscaping project which had the driveway as part of the project. No idea if they would normally do this as a seperate project. |
I’d check with ARC first. A vet (on this site) widened his driveway (if I remember correctly, a foot and and a half) so that he could get out of his van using his wheelchair. He had the driveway widened and when neighbors complained he was asked to rip it up and return it to the original. I believe his house was in district 6. The deed restrictions are different in the various districts.

San Francisco :bigbow: |
I did that on my driveway.
Robie concrete did the job. They got approval from all the authorities. I was very happy with the entire project. |
Robey

We did not have this street permit. Got ARC approval. We used Robert Robey,
excellent, 352-753-2462 |
I used Williams concrete (352) 408-7944 and they used steel rods for steel reinforcement. Others did not even mention it in their proposals.
Ask the Builder: Don’t let contractor skip steel reinforcement in concrete driveway or patio – Orange County Register For smaller companies you will get a better price if you can find a neighbor since they have to purchase concrete in fixed quantities if it is delivered by a concrete truck. One problem I had was the ARC denied making changes in the right of way next to the street even though every other house on my block did that when expanding their driveway. But I did it anyway since who will know since it looks like all the rest. |
Someone may be able to provide a better explanation but for new homes there is a time window in which the ARC rules do not apply and you have much more liberty in making modifications to your new home.
I believe it is before the builder turns the neighborhood back over to the Developer. I found this out when asking others why they made changes that were not in compliance with the deed restrictions. |

That is why I only expanded the width by 2ft and not 4 ft. And BTW, several others have done it after me in my hood. |

There is nothing to rat out. The modifications are in plain sight. Nice try. |

I also will have to disclose it to any potential seller. Not that it is a defense but the new homes are now making their driveways the same way as the modified driveways. |
Just curious what was the issue with Hallendale Villas?

Partial Driveway Widening
We just widened the golf cart area of the driveway about halfway down to the street. Did not increase the driveway footprint on the street. Contacted several know concrete companies for estimates. The wait period was anything from 4-5 months for installation to...we'll put you on our wait list for estimates. Because this was a small job many did not even want to give an estimate.
Discovered MAR Concrete and Curbing, Miguel Rodriguez, (352) 636-6473 on TOV. Outstanding company, good price, great work, on-time, and great results. Exactly what we wanted, could not be happier. From estimate to completion, 3 weeks. Could have been completed sooner however we needed ARC approval even though it did not go to the street. ARC approval process was easy and simple. Follow the instructions on the ARC site. The office staff very helpful and reviewed our application. |
If in CYV I would think pavers would be better idea, at least you can remove the pavers if there utilities problem and put them back down afterwards. Seen one Cyv where the paver’s the whole front yard.
