Was it necessary to erect the huge Welcome to Marion County sign on Buena Vista? A true eyesore prior to entering the Piedmont/ Springdale Roundabout… Resembles something on the I 75 ..

And just when I thought Villagers had run out of stuff to complain about.

you’re tax dollar not at work. Marion county has the highest taxes in three county area. Plus they don’t maintain village roads.

I saw it today and thought it was quite attractive. Fit the decor of the roundabout signs quite nicely.

When I saw the sign I thought, “How nice. Now I know where Marion County, where I live, starts.” It’s a standard street sign.

It starts at the new asphalt they laid down on B/V couple years ago. Which I think the only road in villages Marion county responsible for?

OMG, don't get your panties in an uproar. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that sign and it's nice to know just where Marion County starts. Some people must have such a horrible life to complain about something so trivial.

Some people here would complain if they were hung with a new rope.....:shocked:

AND what is the big deal. Doesn't really hurt anything or anybody. More important stuff going on in the world besides a sign.

I saw the sign yesterday, in my opinion there is nothing wrong with it at all.
My suggestion is that you find something else to complain about, maybe a stray weed in a flowerbed...

When I find one, I may take your advice… Survey says Most Readers find signs acceptable.. interesting

Buena Vista Blvd is one of the most unique public roads in Florida. Flowers, palm trees, roundabouts with flora in the middle, golf courses to the left, golf courses to the right, golf carts riding up and down, with cyclists and walkers.
Whenever we turn off rt. 42 and on to it, we know we're in TV. I saw the sign and I agree with the OP. I would have liked something with a little art work commensurate with the beauty of the road.
Soon we'll have our first store front on Buena Vista Blvd. I guess that's progress. Sad.
