Any suggestions on who to use to install a mini split.

Mini split for lanai
 

Wondering about installing a mini split in my lanai, but would like a ceiling installation as opposed to a wall minted unit. Anyone do this and have an opinion or advice? Thanks.

I shopped around and went with Munns, they had the best price and they did the AC in our house so it made sense. Great crew did the work and I have a lot more appreciation for how my house was built.....

The Ceiling Cassette. Very nice, low profile, and a cleaner look than a typical wall mount unit.

I use Munn's but their problem is normal servicing takes several months to schedule an appointment.

Has anyone installed a mini-split in their Garage?

Like the dentist. Schedule next appointment at time of servicing of unit

In my research I found LG brand was best. Avoid mitibuchi brand.

Munns for sure! They are efficient and professional. We’ve had Munns install mini splits in two homes…and we were able to enjoy those homes totally through both cold and hot seasons.

Had great luck and better price with Kalos on the ceiling mini split, excellent in every way, but I have used Munns before for regular service and they were very good.

We used Kalos AC out of Clermont. 352-243-7088. Beat all of the locals by $500. Had ceiling mount installed this past February. Installed in one day, polite, & cleaned up after themselves.

We also used Kalos. They put one in our bedroom and one in our Lanai. Very happy with them.

We had Kalos install Carrier split in ceiling on lanai in 2020, love it.

We did suncool did ours

We used Munns for 2 units. They are neat and quick. They come with an electrician to do the wiring. Very happy with their work.

Can anyone post an approx price for a mini split

Mini splits are great but the controls are more complex and so sometimes harder to troubleshoot. They usually provide codes when they fail. They are also more compact so can take more labor too.

If you are going to get one, research which brand is the most reliable and then invest in the best warranty you can find.

Munns was great. Vote for them

Used Munn's but with four angles.

First you get 10% for military/first responder/good citizenship. Essentially anyone and everyone gets this.

Second, if you use a referral (a neighbor, me, whoever) they will get 100.00 most will kickback some or all to you.

Third pay by check to save the VISA fee.

Fourth, and this is controversial, your Munn's warranty (5 years?) Is the manufacturers warranty (1 year) and a rider extended warranty of 4 years. I deleted the extended warranty and got 300.00 off. My logic is I will self insure.

Had Munns for few years. M&S in Leesburg out bid them and does great work.
Put our Mitsubishi in the ceiling opposed to on the wall because the ceiling unit has a better condensation pump.
It also looks much nicer in the ceiling.

I agree with KALOS. My original was installed by Munns, when I had a problem the Munns tech had no idea what to do. He “fixed” it. It leaked again. Kalos was recommended diagnosed the issue. The fix was more expensive than a new unit. Unit was warranted, they ordered and installed for minimal charge.

We used SunKool for our Lanai MiniSplit. Got several quotes. The "major" suppliers were all very competitive. SunKool places the evaporator near the house unit (away from the lanai) and extra (blown in) insulation was added to the Lanai ceiling (included). Very pleased.

Munn’s. Very satisfied. Remember, it is a “de-humidifier “, not an air conditioner! (An a/c adds to the livable square footage of your house for tax purposes. Munn’s takes care of that paperwork. )

I had a Mitsubishi installed.

Kalos did a great job for us two years ago, no issues.

Kalos put a split in our garage. Excellent install - great customer service.

Definitely use Munns

Can anyone post a picture of what the ceiling install looked like? Would be interested in that rather than the unit sticking out from the wall above the slider. Thanks in advance
